Did you say Tunisian?
Yes, as in Tunisian crochet! This intriguing technique is often referred to as a combination of crochet and knitting....using an elongated hook and the elements of knitting, a "woven like" fabric is created and it is beautiful!
Carolyn Hanson, a local knitter and crocheter will be teaching a class on this very technique to create a fabulous bag of her own design! The class will meet on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. for three weeks starting September 25th and concluding on October 9th. The class fee is $65.00 which includes the pattern and a 20% discount on any supplies purchased at Knit-a-Bit for the class! Give us a call to sign up for this great opportunity! 908.301.0053

Get the calendars ready!
The class schedule is so close to completion but we can tell you a few things! We will be kicking off the "learning season" with a Shibui Knits trunk show and a Shibui Mix Party on Saturday September 28th featuring all of the mixtures of yarns and patterns to create the great pieces in the trunk show! If you haven't worked with any of these yarns, don't deny yourself any longer! The following weekend on Saturday, October 5th we will welcome Barbara Kreuter who will be teaching the techniques used to create the Frequency Cowl! This cowl is really a lot of fun to knit combining intarsia, mitered squares and stockinette (and that's speaking from experience!) The class will be from 10:00 - 3:00 with lunch! The $95.00 fee will include the pattern, 20% discount on yarn purchase and a yummy lunch! Give us a call if you want to learn more! Also look forward to a visit on December 7th from Amy Herzog, author of Knit to Flatter who will be teaching a class on how to make your handknit garments fit to flatter your shape! Be forewarned, she is a NEPatriots fan too! Details will be announced soon.....more "celebrity" teachers will be making appearances in the very near future!

Busy bees...
A while ago in conversation, we happened to mention to Cheryl, "jack of ALL trades extraordinaire" that it would be nice to have another pegboard wall to display hanks of yarn.....well, lo and behold, I walked in to find the beginning of that wall! We will be doing a little rearranging so that we can show off beautiful hanks of yarn on Cheryl and Ted's newly constructed pegboard wall! THANK YOU!!!
