Yarn Spotlight
Karma isn't always a bitch....especially when it's yarn!  This yarn has been featured before, but it's so great, it deserves some more attention.  It is cotton (which means it's on sale) and is considered bulky because of it's tape like structure.  It is dyed in subtle hues and often appears tye dyed.  It is the perfect weight for year round garments and makes for a great, drapey, basic pullover.  Whatever you do make with this yarn, it is sure to become a favorite in your wardrobe!
Pattern of the Week
Rumor has it that the eagerly anticipated royal baby may be named Charlotte if it's a girl....well, we thought that we would honor that idea with this week's featured pattern!
This simple lace, easy top down cardigan is seamless and suitable for this season and perfect for cooler evenings at the shore or mountains! it would be perfect in some of the COTTONS in stock that also just so happen to be on SALE!!!  This is a great pattern to be working on while the heat lingers! Not to mention, you can do short or long sleeves!

You know when you move into a new home and you do your best to make everything fit even though the dimensions may just not accommodate it all? Well, we're kind of feeling the same kind of squeeze situation....a lot of yarn, not necessary the space to put it all on display!  We need room!  SALE TIME!!

Through the remainder of July, all yarns containing cotton, will be 30% off!  That's right, the light weight yarns of the season are on SALE!  There is a lot of options here for a variety of projects.....don't miss out!  Come and grab a project to work on during the lazy days of summer and at a good deal too!
Road Trip!
Any day trip destined for a fiber festival deserves an exclamation point or two!  We mentioned it last week, but wanted to remind you that Knit-a-Bit and three other local stores are heading to the Rhinebeck Sheep and Wool Festival  on October 19th!  The details will be given as we get closer, but if you are interested in hopping a ride so that you can knit and crochet on the way, give us a call to reserve a spot! 908.301.0053

Nan finished this great Flat Top Hat using one skein of Zara Hand- Dyed as a store sample and the result is fabulous!  The
pattern and the dye process are both from Iris Schreier and her collaboration with Tahki yarns!  Very cool and we know that
you will want to do this great hat too!

The Color Purple....
At Knit-a-Bit, we love the color purple and we aren't the only ones that do!  Purple represents many things and happens to be the color for many awareness raising causes as well.  We think that we found one that we can all feel good about...Prevent Child Abuse in N.J. is educating parents about Period of PURPLE Crying" during the first few weeks of an infants life and in order to do that, they need our help!  Please knit any newborn baby cap pattern (and we have a few to choose from...) in any shade of soft, baby-friendly PURPLE yarn and we will send the caps to the offices.  We have a lovely purple tote that we will be collecting these hats.  To show our appreciation, Knit-a-Bit will give you a coupon towards your next purchase!  We thank you and the babies thank you!

Book of the Week

You know the drill, you want to knit something new, something beautiful, and something timeless; but where do you start? This week we are featuring a book that may solve this question for you, Wearwithall, Knits For Your Life is a collection of patterns by a group of five talented knitters from The Yarnery in St. Paul MN. The Book offers designs that work, projects that can be tailored to your family's lifestyle and make wonderful gifts as well.

The book includes designs for beginning and experienced knitters. There are 13 patterns - from accessories to sweaters to blankets - but that is not all! Each pattern is a springboard to several more patterns by making small changes. For example, the colorwork mitten pattern can be done as simple mitten with a colorful cuff, the hat pattern can be adapted for a man or women, and the toddler's sweater can become a dress. All the necessary directions for making these changes are here for you in clear instructions.

All the patterns come with color photos, schematics, charts and well-written instructions that have been test knitted by actual knitters! Always a Plus!

Stop in this week, pick up your copy of Wearwithall @ 25% off, and get a head start on those fall knitting projects. Happy Knitting!

Despite the heat, our needles are clicking! The shelves are starting to change in appearance and we do need more room, so BUY COTTON!

Pam WILL be knitting this Monday evening from 8:00 - 10:00 and she would love to see you!  She'll even sell you some COTTON!

Don't forget, it may be hot outside, but it's cool in Knit-a-Bit...cool to be seen and cool to sit!
