Yarn Spotlight
Who doesn't love vibrant colors?   We love 220 Superwash Sport for this reason and a few other perks too! 100% merino,  it works up nicely, has great stitch definition and the colors lend well to any colorwork project!  It is ideal for babies, blankets, garments and hats!  Not to mention it's machine washable.  What's not to love?
Gadget of the Week
Okay, so it technically isn't a gadget but a very useful accessory!  LaviShea Lotion Bar is ideal for our hands especially this time of year!  Between working with various yarns and digging in dirt, our hands are busy...not to mention washing dishes! This lotion comes in a disc and you rub it in your hands.  The scents are very subtle and refreshing and your hands will love the t.l.c.! And the best part?  It can't leak all over your bag!

Ahh, Spring!  It seems to really be here and everyone seems to be a little bit jollier as a result!  This time of year is always a bit busier too with sports, end of year concerts, parties, graduations, a full calendar!

We have been busy at Knit-a-Bit too!  We have been ordering for fall, working on updating (and enhancing) our website, gathering ideas and thoughts for future classes* and just a little housekeeping here and there!  We are getting excited for happenings now and the seasons ahead!  The new yarns are awesome, the fall trends are fun and we can't wait to share everything with you....for now, you will just have to soak up our enthusiasm!!

(*Please feel free to write down your suggestions on the bulletin board in the "baby room")

Cleaning is BENEFICIAL!

Our cleaning streak continues!  We were straightening our book shelves and we realized, "we have a LOT of books!"....You are the beneficiary of our cleaning because through the month of May, we are offering all hardback books at 40% off!  This is good on any full priced, in stock, hardback books!  What an awesome opportunity to add to your knitting and crochet libraries!  A plethora of titles and subjects to choose from, READ ON!!!!
F.O.'s Gallery
Leave it to Laura....she literally whipped up this Zoe Cardi using Maya in a flash!  She has actually already worn it at Knit-a-Bit! It looks great on and in this picture!

Anita whipped up this Wonderful Wallaby Sweater using Cotton Supreme Batik and we are a tad envious of the lucky recipient!

Monday, Funday!
Who doesn't have a little dread on Mondays as we embark on another week....chores, carpooling and running around....we have the solution to enhance the beginning of your week!

Laura will be in the house at Knit-a-Bit on Mondays from 12:00 to 3:00 for a little socializing, knitting, crocheting and even a bit of guidance along the way!  Stop by and say hello and bring your latest project for NoonKnits at Knit-a-Bit!
All that is left is the finishing....

We hear this often....you do an entire garment and then it sits idle because you don't feel confident doing the assembling!  Fear no more!

There will be a Finishing Class this coming Saturday May 18th from 11:00 - 1:00.  There are still spaces available and for $45.00 you will learn all the necessary skills to eliminate the "fear of finishing"
Give us a call 908-301-0053 to reserve a spot!

Book of the Week

Do you love to make kids sweaters but hate the finishing?

Say no more! This week's featured book is the best of both worlds. Top Down for Toddlers by Deb and Lynda Gemmell combines the fun and satisfaction of knitting a kids sweater with the almost no-sew technique that we knitters crave.

The book started out with the basics; extremely well written patterns for a pullover, cardigan, hat and socks. Then the authors enlisted the creativity of a group of talented designers, who took the basics to a whole new level. For example, the basic pullover gets a fabulous cable or becomes a pocket hoody. The classic cardigan is given a Nordic look with an intarsia pattern

The tried and true hat pattern becomes a Russian hat with addition of some novelty trim. And there are several variations on the sox pattern as well. Also included is the ever popular poncho, sure to please any little girl.

Top Down for Toddlers includes patterns suitable for beginners to intermediate knitters with well written instructions, color photographs, yarn suggestions and schematics where necessary.

This book is a must have for your knitting library and at 16.95 + 25% off this book is a real bargain! Stop in this week and get your copy before they are all gone. Happy Knitting!
