Yarn Spotlight
With the varying temperatures, we thought that we would highlight a yarn that is suitable for all the seasons.  Weekend is an acrylic and cotton blend that is slightly heavier than worsted.  Berroco describes this yarn in their own words: "Weekend™ is the perfect yarn for any laid back knitting project. A soft, comfortable machine washable blend, this yarn is uncomplicated from start to finish."
What's not to love?
Pattern of the Week
We are all a little anxious to sport some lighter attire...no more big sweaters and boots!  We need a reprieve!  No need to revolt...just work up this adorable sweater!  The Summer Open Cardigan is the ideal solution to the weather changes during this time of year! Not to mention, this week's Yarn Spotlight would work up beautifully for this pattern!

March is a perplexing month.....you never know what the weather will be; the days get longer but we all seem a bit more tired; you want to wear bright spring clothes, but it's still cold out.  What are we to do about March?

Our solution is easy!  Pick a new project!  Why not get started on a garment for yourself?  You can finish it in time to wear it in the warmer weather and we have some beautiful lightweight yarns to choose from! Treat yourself to a little pick me up!  We guarantee, you will feel a lot better and than before you know it, April will be here!
A crawling we will go...

Knit-a-Bit will be participating in this years Garden State Yarn Crawl!  What's a Yarn Crawl you ask?  Well, it's similar to a Pub Crawl without the alcohol...still perplexed?  It's an event to allow eager knitters and crocheters to get to as many knitting stores as possible within 4 days!  It's an organized, mapped trek that is sure to be entertaining!  Mark your calendars!  The Garden State Yarn Crawl takes place April 18-21! No fee and all fun!
Oh May, Oh Maya!

Berroco Yarns hit it right on the head with this yarn!  Maya is a combination of cotton and alpaca and the combination is beyond perfect!  It is soft, smooth and has an awesome drape!  We all agree that it is an ideal "year long" yarn, suitable for any season!  It even has it's own pattern booklet!  Susan is actually contemplating using it for a simple cardigan just to show off the yarn!
Did you notice?

Did you happen to notice what's going on in the "middle room"?  Well, we condensed all of the current sale yarn in there for the season!  There are some great "deals and steals" in this little corner of Knit-a-Bit and we didn't want you to miss out on anything!  Check it out!

Speaking of checking things out....we post on Facebook and Ravelry almost every day....if you haven't already, go on Facebook and "like" us!  On Ravelry, join the Knit-a-Bitters group.  You never know what surprises may appear for those of you "in the know" if you know what we mean!

For a lot of us, it's Spring Break and Passover with Easter being celebrated by week's end!  A busy time of year!  We will be closing at 5:00 this Wednesday....it's Passover week and having been at two Seders in a row, we are over satiated and tired....that's our only excuse! Pam will NOT be knitting this Monday night...she will be celebrating Passover and most likely will be over satiated and tired by Wednesday too!

Did anyone request Cascade 220 Fingering in Turquoise while attending the Yarn Tasting?  We're a little perplexed as to who wanted this yarn! Speaking of the tasting, CONGRATS to Gail A....she won a great kit from Cascade and will be sporting a beautiful sweater in the future!

We want to wish everyone a happy celebration of whatever holiday you observe...we will be closing early on Wednesday evening and we will be closed Sunday, 3/31 for Easter!  Enjoy Spring Break and visit us!
