Pattern of the Week
This is the Nola Cloche....a funky, quick hat that screams "Downton Abbey" to everyone that sees it!  Laura worked one up quickly using her stash of Tosh Chunky.  The hat can be worked up using worsted or chunky yarn which leads to endless possibilities!  Vintage Wool from Berroco, Lustra, SimpliWorsted,
Eco Highland Duo, the possibilities are endless!  This week's pattern of the week!

Yarn Spotlight
Having previously mentioned SimpliWorsted, I couldn't help but get excited!  This yarn is divine! A heavy worsted to aran weight yarn in a myriad of colors, it's hard to resist!  It is 140 yards, super stitch definition and machine washable! What's not to love?
F.O. Hall of Fame

Tola had emailed me a while ago to show off these spectacular sweaters!  Apologies for not featuring it sooner! Despite the fact that the stars presented a challenge to Tola, the results are awesome!!

Did we mention?

Living so close to NYC, we tend to have celebrity sightings every now and then and we still get a little excited.  Well, we will have our own celebrity sighting (of the knitterati variety) at Knit-a-Bit and not one, but two!

Stacy Charles and Iris Schreier of TSCArtYarns will be "in the house" on Tuesday, 2/19 at 3:00 p.m. and we couldn't be more excited!  They are bringing the newest collection of yarns from their collaborative efforts!  TSCArtYarns has three spectacular yarns embellished with sequins, hand dyed and just yummy!  You need to come touch and see to truly appreciate the creativity behind this awesome collection!  Not to mention that you get to meet the creative genius' too!

Mistakes do happen....

Milk spills at dinner, you forget a relative's birthday, you give your kid the wrong lunch bag....mistakes do happen.  They often occur in knitting and crocheting too and you panic.  NO NEED!  We are having a Mistakes Happen Class on Saturday, 2/23 at 11:00 a.m.;  the perfect cure for those knitting and crocheting panic attacks!  Give us a call to sign up, knit or crochet some swatches and leave them on the needles....we will take care of everything else....just breath and relax!  We can even provide you with coffee! It's all good!
Book of the Week

This week's featured book is a must-have for handknitting and interior design enthusiasts. Makes a perfect gift, too! Knits at Home, is a brand new book with wonderful patterns to spruce up and add style to any room in your home.

Add personality and interest to any room with beautifully designed and handcrafted knitted pieces from Ruth Cross's
Knits at Home. You will enjoy exploring different handknit patterns-from throws to fitted covers, elegant wall hangings to floor rugs that have a beautiful, organic feel. I love the Pouf footstool and the fun vase covers and doorstops.

Starting with the very basics of simple knitting and purling and progressing to add further texture and embellishment, Ruth guides you through a range of stitch patterns and techniques that can be adapted to different shapes and sizes.

Ruth not only offers elegant and appealing home décor projects; she also gives you the techniques to design organic and freeform home items of your own. Taking an experimental approach, Ruth combines traditional stitches with new stitches she has devised herself, with unexpected and striking results. With help from
Knits at Home, you will create completely personal pieces that will light up any room in your home.

With beautiful colored photos and easy to follow instructions Knits at Home is a must have addition to your knitting library. Stop in this week at pick up your copy @ 25% off.

Happy Knitting!

We have moved a few things around to make room for the Spring yarns....the new class schedule is done and available on the Quick Links on the top of this newsletter!  Check it out!  Classes start the week of March 4th and we've added a few new "subjects" to the mix!  Including the Liesl Sweater by Ysolda Teaque!  A great sweater to learn a variety of techniques with flattering results!

Pam will NOT be knitting this Monday, but when you see her next, make sure you wish her a "happy birthday"!

Hope to see a lot of you on Tuesday for our TSCArtYarns party!  We can't wait!  You will love the yarns as much as we do!
