Perfect Timing - Good Hands
"Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, about this time next year, and Sarah shall have a son."
(Genesis 18: 14, ESV)

When it comes to good horsemanship, so much of it is about timing - our timing, not the horse's timing. We have to have perfect timing to develop a truly responsive horse. Perfect timing means that we are "right on time, every time". For example, when we ask a horse to do something, and he responds obediently, we must be quick to release the pressure. Release from pressure is a horse's reward and tells him that he did the right thing. Perfect timing also demands that we have good hands. Why? The reward (release from pressure) is in our hands. Good hands have a soft "feel", yet, they are strong and confident at the same time. Good hands can feel the horse's slightest "try", and they know when to open and when to close accordingly. I guess you could say that perfect timing and good hands kind of reminds me of God. So much about our relationship with God is about perfect timing - His timing. And it's about being in good hands that we can trust - His hands.
That was certainly the case for Sarah. Scripture tells us that Sarah was well into her 90's when the Lord declared that she would give birth to a son. All I can say is, "You go, girlfriend!" Of course, Sarah was well aware of her age, and when she heard the Lord declare to her husband, Abraham, that she would have a son, she did what most women her age would do - she laughed! I'm sure Sarah thought her time had already come and gone. But that didn't change God's heart towards Sarah, nor the plans He intended for her future. In God's perfect timing, Sarah gave birth to a son. She named her son Isaac. Coincidentally (or not), the name Isaac means laughter. Just as it was with Sarah, the Bible says that your life and times are in God's hands. That means that even when you feel like you're going to be "late to the dance", so to speak, you are, in reality, going to be right on time. That is reason for joy, even laughter! Has God given you a promise for the future? I encourage you to hold tight to that promise today. God will be right on time, and His reward will be in His hands!

Hi Friends,
Have you ever thought about a makeover? I confess, now that I'm in my early 60's, the thought of a timely makeover has certainly crossed my mind! I often tease that I'd trade these "look older than I feel" wrinkles for a fresh, "always surprised" look any day! But alas, what's life without a few well-earned wrinkles, right? I'm sure it adds character, or something like that. Speaking of makeovers, hope you like the new makeover for our equine ministry newsletter. I'll be tweaking it over the next few weeks and hope to create a newsletter that you will always look forward to opening. So, why the change? Studies show that more than 65% of people now view their emails and websites via a mobile device, and that number is growing every day. Not only that, but studies have shown that while our smart phones are getting, well, smarter - our attention spans are getting shorter! With all this in mind, I've re-designed our newsletter format to be more mobile friendly. And instead of those lengthy email teachings - I'm now aiming to get right to the point, and fast! I'll save those "extended version" teachings for future clinics! For now, I'm excited about the growth of our online horse ministry, and how God continues to bless our efforts to reach the world with just a simple click of a button. Who would have "thunk" it? Certainly not this old cowgirl, but I'm sure glad someone did. Until next time, here's to timely makeovers, and to God be the Glory!
In His Love,
Susan Klaudt
