WHAT IS...
Natural Horse
Faith-Man-Ship
Natural Horse Faith-Man-Ship is an equine ministry founded and created by Susan Klaudt to visually teach biblical faith using horses. It is based on three important principles of truth that we call the three P's.
Purpose, Power, and Partnership
PURPOSE
You were born for God's purpose.
POWER
You have been given power through the name of Jesus Christ.
PARTNERSHIP
You are created for partnership
with God.
WHY USE ANIMALS TO
TEACH BIBLICAL FAITH?
The Bible says...
"You have only to ask the cattle, for them to instruct you, and the birds of the sky, for them to inform you. The creeping things of the earth will give you lessons, and the fish of the sea provide you an explanation: there is not one such creature but will know that the hand of God has arranged things like this!"
(Job 12: 7-9)

WE'RE ABOUT OUR FATHER'S WORK The Bible says... "And He gave some, apostles, and some prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ." Faith Without Works Is
DEAD
What good is it, my brother, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled," without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
(James 2: 14 - 17, ESV)
Your Actions Give
EXPRESSION
To Your Faith
By now, most of you know that I spent a few years showing in AQHA before retiring my horses, Samson and Montana, to work with me full-time in equine ministry. One of my favorite classes when showing was western pleasure. For a horse to be successful in this event, not only does a horse have to exhibit an even temperament and be willing to be guided on a reasonably loose rein, but he must also be able to execute the three western pleasure gaits (walk, jog, lope) with precision. Although the light jog and sweeping lope were certainly an important over-all factor, I quickly learned that the more seasoned Judges could always spot a real winner from the moment they entered the ring by simply looking at the collection and cadence of the horse at a "walk".
Nevertheless, the "behind the scenes" barn chatter that took place right before a class was always interesting and full of zeal. If you were to believe all the lofty words of the competitors, you'd think we were all going to take home the blue-ribbon. We were certainly all winners at talking a good game, but deep inside, we all knew that it would take much more than talk to bring home the coveted prize. In addition to all that talk, - we had to have the walk!
As Christians, We Have
The Talk, ...
But Do We Have THE WALK?
"But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves."
(James 1: 22. ESV)
When it comes to showing a horse successfully, you have to have the "whole package", and your walk must always exceed your talk!
Have you ever been around someone who, perhaps, has an incredible gift of gab, always telling you everything they know, but with very little action to back it up? Pretty annoying, huh? Perhaps the only thing worse is the person who is constantly talking about all the faith they have, but who never does anything to express that faith with action!
We can all count on one hand the times we've heard someone say, "I'm just believing God to ____." You can fill in the blank. Of course, it should go without saying that there's absolutely nothing wrong with trusting and "believing" God for something. In fact, we are to trust and believe God for everything! The problem is not in believing God for something. The problem is in "not acting" on what we say we believe! Obviously, the problem of too much talk and not enough action isn't new. It was prevalent even in biblical times. The Word says that we all deceive ourselves if we are simply hearers of the Word, and not doers of the Word. So, let's get straight to the point.
The Bible says that if we see someone who is hungry, we must do more than simply pray for them - we must feed them. And if we see someone who is cold, - we don't get a prayer chain going to pray for warmer weather, - we give that person a coat! Suffice to say, in my neck of the redneck woods, we're not very delicate or refined when it comes to expressing what should just be good old common sense, perhaps because we have neither the patience, the will, or the want-to. I feel certain that if my Kentucky born, salt of the earth, coal-mining daddy were still around, he'd be saying right about now, "People just need to put up, or shut up!" That just about says it all, don't it? Ahhh, not quite. You know me, there's more...
PUT UP
Or
SHUT UP!
"Little children, let us not love in word or talk, but in deed and truth."
(1 John 3: 18, ESV)
Let's face it, horses are pretty good at eating and grazing, and most would prefer to do that all the time. But on a real working ranch, there is no such luxury. Every horse that eats is required to work, too!
Can you imagine if churches functioned more like working ranches? What if we went to church on Sunday, and instead of feasting on another message about how God wants us to have all our heart's desires, - instead, the Pastor goes to the pulpit with a kind, but stern look on his face and says, "For years, I have taught you the Word of God. You are fat and full. Now it is time for you to get off your hiney and go to work!" Then the Pastor simply closes his Bible, and quietly sits down without saying another word.
To say the least, the "shock and awe" would be palpable for years to come! And you can betcha' cowboy boots, if this really took place, the fall-out would undoubtedly result in plenty of empty pews the following Sunday, not to mention a lot of de-friending on the church's popular Facebook page, and maybe even a notable mention on CNN. Why? Because it's the hard truth! And truth is never popular. It's, well, it's just hard! Forgive me for the earthly comparison, but we dare not become like those old ranch horses that enjoy grazing all the time, but don't really care much for doing a job. A horse that just wants to eat, but not move his feet, is in danger of becoming a mere pasture ornament. And what's a pasture ornament? A pasture ornament is a horse that is fat and shiny from eating well, but out of shape from lack of work. For those of you out there in cyberspace who are cowboy tough, and haven't hit the delete button yet, - let's go a bit further. Why? Because I want to tell you about the very important job we've been called to do while the light's still on!
Getting The Job
Done While The Light's
Still On
"I must do the work of the One who sent me while it is day. Night is approaching, when no one can work."
(John 9: 4, ISV)
This is our Heavenly Father's earth. As His children, we are called to occupy this amazing, spinning world, and make disciples of all nations.
The earth, and all that is in it, belongs to God. As His children, you and I are not called to be prophets of doom, but we are called to be ministers of hope and reconciliation, and make disciples of all the nations. And yet, we have all read John's book of Revelation, and we know what lies ahead. So, what are we to do with that kind of knowledge? The answer is, - we "act" on what we know, and what we've been told! And what does it mean to act on what we know? It means to be fully conscious, awake, watchful, and consumed with the job at hand. And what is the job at hand? Jesus said it best, ...
"Go therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
(Matthew 28: 19 - 20)
Sounds to me like you and I have an important job to do, and with no time to waste. But are we really up for the task at hand? God had absolutely no doubt that we were when He wrote our story! We are the Church, and He has already declared us the "winner". Know why? We've got more than the talk. We've got the real walk!
