Meet My New Little
Diva Dog
Sophie!
Sophie just waking up from her nap.
My newest little blessing is a 4 year old Papillon. She weighs a whopping 4 pounds, and is quite the Diva with her pink nails and lacy dresses. She was a special gift to me this month from my grandson. How awesome is that?
A little history - in 2011, I lost my yellow lab, Hank, to old age. That same year, my Chihuahua, Lil' Tex passed away from heart failure at 13 years old. Later that same year, my mixed lab, Cowboy-Up, died, too. All of my dogs were a gift from God, and lived to be a ripe old age. Nevertheless, losing all three in one year was heartbreaking for me. Finally, in 2013, my chocolate lab, Hershey, passed away from old age, too. That was a tough day to get through.
This October, the Lord moved on my grandson's heart to give me Sophie, and she has already won my heart. Today, Sophie joins me and my husband, Kim, on the farm along with our 15 year old Chihuahua, Miss Magnolia, and my three horses. Today Sophie experienced sitting on the back of a horse for the first time, and she liked it. Small as she is, I think she's ready to get her inner-cowgirl on! Hope you enjoy Sophie's pictures and her first day with the horses.
SOPHIE'S FIRST TIME ON A HORSE. YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING, YOU WANT ME TO RIDE HIM?
Sophie's first time on my horse, Samson. "Wow, mom, this is the biggest dog I've ever seen, and he smells funny, too!"
SOPHIE GETTING HER INNER-COWGIRL ON
"Hmmm, I like sitting up high like this. How do I look? I think I need a cowgirl hat - something with some color and lots of bling in a size x-small, please."
BEAUTY AND THE MINI-BEAST
"Alright buster, keep your nose to yourself. Don't underestimate me just because I'm beautiful and wear pink!"
BOYS WILL BE BOYS
"Alright boys, quit sniffing me, and look at the camera. And please, stop snorting! How embarrassing. Can't you see this is a Kodak moment and I'm trying to look sophisticated?"
I DON'T THINK MY LEGS WILL EVER REACH THE STIRRUPS. MAYBE YOU COULD BUY ME A CUSTOM-MADE SADDLE?
"Wow, mom, I think I'm ready to ride bareback. Are my back legs in the right position? By the way, where are those cowgirl boots you promised me?"
