TOMMIE AND CHANTAL TURVEY

This week's newsletter is a bit different from my usual equine ministry newsletter, and I'm so excited to share it with you! This past weekend, my husband, Kim, and I got to attend a once-in-a lifetime equine performance and trick demonstration by the incredible, world renowned Equine Extremist, himself - the one and only Tommie Turvey, and his beautiful wife and gifted horsewoman, Chantal Turvey.

Along with Tommie's amazing performances, we were also blessed to watch Chantal (Tommie's wife) do an amazing demo with her horses. Chantal is an amazing and gifted horsewoman in her own right, and she did a beautiful bareback riding performance with her personal horse and a terrific little mini that simply left everyone in awe of their talent, beauty, and grace.

And where did such a marvelous event take place? It took place last Friday at Tommy and Chantal's brand new Liberty Horse Ranch in Summerville, Georgia. Yep, you heard me right. The Turvey's, who have traveled the world, have moved to the south! The great news for me is that the Turveys new ranch is located in my neck of the woods. I'm a Tennessee native, but the Turvey's ranch is just a little over an hour from my driveway, across the Tennessee state line, and into our neighboring state, Georgia. I hope you enjoy the pictures we took of this educational and awesome day.

In addition to a 3 day horsemanship clinic for registered participants during May, the Turvey's put on an incredible demo and special performance with their personal horses. The special evening performance was open to the community and public. Those in attendance were not only blessed with a "once in a lifetime" private performance of spectacular horsemanship and trick training by the Turveys, but also a behind-the-scenes look at their new Liberty Horse Ranch, and the life and history of their amazing horses. Be sure to check out the Turvey's Website for future clinics, their on-site gift store, and Tommie and Chantal's upcoming appearance dates around the country.
During the evening's festivities, we all got a special "behind the scenes" look at Tommie and Chantal's horses and their personal barn with 16 stalls and covered riding area. We also got to learn some of the history behind their talented horses, and hear about Tommie's amazing career in Hollywood movies and commercials as a horse trainer and trick trainer.
In addition to meeting Tommie and Chantal Turvey, we had the pleasure of meeting Tommie's sister, Karen Turvey-Marshall, and her husband, Jamie Marshall. Karen is an incredible horsewoman, too, and along with her husband, Jamie, they now help manage the new Liberty Horse Ranch, it's programs, and clinic schedules.
Along with being the world's greatest equine extremist, Tommie's horses have starred in many popular movies such as "The Greening Of Whitney Brown" and "Batman: The Dark Knight", just to name a few. The horses have also appeared in numerous TV commercials, and television programs, as well as AMC's popular programs, "Turn" and "Jonah Hex". Remember the "tear-jerker" Budweiser commercial with the Clydesdale during the Super-Bowl? Tommie was the one who trained the horse for that heart-warming commercial that stole all our hearts!
