Susan is a minister of the Gospel and not a horse trainer. She is a teacher of the Word and not a horse clinician. Did You Know?
The Bible often uses animals to illustrate a truth about our natural, earthly life.
Did You Know?
The horse is mentioned more than 375 times in scripture, and is used more than any other animal to teach principles of biblical faith.
Did You Know?
The language of the horse is called Equus. The language of God is called Faith. Susan Klaudt uses horses and the language of Equus to teach God's Word and the language of Faith.

The Ministry of
SUSAN KLAUDT
Dr. Susan Jeffries-Klaudt has been an ordained minister of the gospel for more than three decades. She holds an honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Word of Truth Seminary, and is co-founder of Kim and Susan Klaudt World Ministries. Susan is also an experienced horse woman, trains her own horses, and an avid rider. She is the creator of Natural Horse Faith-Man-Ship, a Christian ministry that uses horses to visually teach biblical faith.
Susan's teachings are based on three biblical principles:
PURPOSE
You were born for God's purpose
POWER
You have been given power through the name of Jesus Christ
PARTNERSHIP
You are created for partnership
with God
"You have only to ask the cattle, for them to instruct you, and the birds of the sky, for them to inform you. The creeping things of the earth will give you lessons, and the fish of the sea provide you an explanation: there is not one such creature but will know that the hand of God has arranged things like this! In His hand is the soul of every living thing and the breath of every human being."
(Job 12: 7 - 10)
A Special Note To My Readers
As a minister, and a horse owner for many years, I know that there is no better animal to help me visually demonstrate and teach Bible-based principles of faith than the horse.
The horse is a large prey animal who is instinctive and reactive by nature, and hard-wired for survival. However, with proper training, the horse is capable of learning that the source of his power is not in his size, his speed, or even his instincts. The true source of the horse's power lies in the gentle and guiding hand of his Master in partnership.
It is a privilege for me to share my life with God's marvelous creation, the horse. Together, we are partners in ministry, and in sharing God's Word. It is my sincere hope that through the humble efforts of Natural Horse Faith-Man-Ship, you will come to discover your unique and wonderful purpose in life, and be blessed with the knowledge that God loves you, and has always desired partnership with you!

UPDATE ON
Howdy Friends,
This has been the craziest winter ever! Just a few days ago, it looked like this out here on the farm.
Our old pole barn where we store hay for the winter, and pine shavings for barn stalls.
But today, the snow has all melted away, and the temps reached the mid 60's. Go figure! Thanks to old man winter dumping a ton of snow on us, it has been several weeks since I've ridden my horses. The good news is, since I was house-bound, I finally got caught up on some office work. And that's a good thing!
On the other hand, I've been pining away for my horses, and longing to get back in the saddle. Yeah, I know, I'm nuts. But I actually go through serious withdrawals when I don't get to ride. Some of you other horse nuts out there know exactly what I'm talking about. Well, alas, I got my riding fix today! The sun finally came out, and I high-tailed it down to the barn, saddled Samson up, and got in several hours of riding. And once again, all was right with my world!
The power and importance of a good back-up (even better when it's rein-less). Sometimes when we get ahead of God, an energetic back-up helps us get our focus back.
We also got a few good pictures for an upcoming newsletter this week on the importance and value of having a good "back-up" in your life. Like many people, I tend to have a "forward motion" mentality, and at times a "charge-ahead" personality, so God has had to teach me over the years the critical necessity of knowing not just when to go forward, - but just as importantly - knowing when to stop and back up. Oftentimes, we get ahead of God and His plans for our life, and the more we get ahead of God, the more likely we are to be out of sync with His perfect timing, or worse yet, miss it all together. And what's the problem with missing God's perfect timing? Everything, especially if it causes us to miss our date with destiny!
And finally, a few of you have emailed to ask how the rein-less training is going with my horse, Samson. Our first lesson was back in January, and today marks only our 2'nd lesson. But Samson seemed to retain everything he had learned, so we're back on our game!
When riding without reins, it's important to look where you want to go. In this picture, I'm exaggerating for the purpose of training by looking and pointing in the direction I want my horse to travel.
I thought you might like to see some pictures of our training session today. Again, I left the reins draped over my horse's neck for an emergency back-up plan at this stage, just in case I needed them. I'm looking for Samson to be consistent in moving forward, backwards, left and right, and to give me a good, solid stop and back-up. Once I'm confident he can do all these things consistently and with minimal cues, then I'll take away the reins completely. I'll keep you updated on our progress. 'Til next time, stay safe and stay warm, and keep looking up because spring is on the way! Oh yeah, and watch for our newsletter this week on the power and the importance of the back-up in your life.
Remember - a good back-up is sometimes essential for getting where God wants you to be, - and especially for getting there right on time!
Asking Samson to turn right by lightly tapping the handy-stick on the left side of his neck. I start out with the lightest tap possible, and increase the pressure until my horse makes the turn. The release of pressure will tell him he did the right thing.
The art of guiding and keeping the horse between the handy-sticks at a lope.
Teaching Samson to yield (lateral flexion). I teach this exercise to my horse from the ground first, then I teach it under saddle.
In this picture, I'm asking Samson to back up by placing my handy-sticks on each side of his neck, and then tapping with light, rhythmic pressure until he takes a step backwards. Some clinicians teach this method by tapping the horse on the top of his neck with one stick until he takes a step backwards. I'm teaching Samson both methods.
In this picture, my horse is learning to
"travel straight" with no reins, instead of weaving, or choosing his own direction.
Here, I'm using my handy-sticks, along with leg cues to shape my horse's body in the correct position. I'm looking for an arc to the left, and not a sharp left turn.
Here, I'm turning my upper body slightly, and looking in the direction I want my horse to go. Just as my body is naturally moving in the direction I am looking, - my horse's body should also move towards the direction I look.
"I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
(Psalm 32: 8 KJB)
