Beginning April 3 and 4, weekly downtown street sweeping will begin for the season.
Downtown residents, employees and visitors are asked to park their vehicle on the correct side of the street on Sunday and Monday nights before midnight to make room for street sweepers to sweep along curbs. In most of the Central Business District on Mondays, the south and east sides of the streets will be swept; on Tuesdays, the north and west sides will be swept.
The southeast quadrant of downtown (bounded by Broad Street, I-71, Fulton Street and Grant Avenue) will be swept only monthly on the first Monday and Tuesday of each month. On the first Monday, the south and east sides of the street will be swept; on the first Tuesday, the north and west sides will be swept.
Look for postcards on vehicles reminding residents and visitors of the restrictions that will be strictly enforced. The restriction is in place starting Monday at 12:00 a.m. (Sunday at midnight) to 6 a.m. and again Tuesday at 12:00 a.m. (Monday at midnight) until 6 a.m. Vehicles that are not parked on the correct side of the street will be ticketed and towed.
