Well, maybe we don't need your attitude, but you should try the slow-roasted beef cheek at the MEATBar. Not a beef-eater? Try the pork belly, short ribs, duck, chicken or ahi tuna. You see where we're going, but don't despair vegetarians. Even with the name MEATBar, the meatless crowd also has plenty of options with protein-packed tofu, quinoa, and mac and cheese. Everyone worried about New Year's resolutions will also find plenty of salads and sauted veggies.
In addition to the savory feast options, you'll get in and out on your lunch hour with time to spare, and your wallet isn't gonna kill you in the process. Lunches cost 10 bucks or less.
What are you waiting on? Saddle up to the bar, but check out the Blue Plate Special below before you go. Right Now Downtown readers get an incentive to try it out. MEATBar is at 122 S. High Street, and it's open Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Look at their menu on Facebook or try one of their daily specials.

Building Blocks
The architect charged with designing the new Ohio Veterans Memorial has released new renderings of the planned building. The first floor will include a great hall, a museum store, a cafe, and space for educational programs. The upper portion of the building will feature a civic room for special events and community use. Demolition has begun inside the existing Vets Memorial and the new building is scheduled to be complete in December 2016. You can check out the renderings on Columbus Underground.

Alley Oop!
Cafe Napolitana has long been the spot downtown for a most delicious slice of pizza heaven. Now it is venturing into local tavern territory with the opening of the Alley Bar. Named thus for its entrance off of Pearl Alley, the new bar space has been built out in the former backroom party space.
They opened up last week just in time for the Bucks' big win over the Tide, and it would be a great spot to watch the title bout with the Ducks as well, as you'll find plenty of TVs throughout. Grab a glass of suds or a cocktail to go with your pizza. You may just become the Alley Bar Norm, permanently perched atop a barstool offering zingers to your fellow regulars. Napolitana's owner, Palmo, would like nothing more than for everybody to know your name.
