Race for the Cure Traffic Closures

The 2013 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure will take place on May 18 downtown. The event will draw crowds in excess of 45,000 people, which will have a significant impact on motorists and pedestrians in the area.

 

On Friday, May 17 at 6 p.m.  Broad St. will close between High and Third streets through approximately 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 18.

 

On Saturday, May 18 at 6 a.m. the following roads will close: Front St. between Gay and Rich streets; Broad St. between High St. and Civic Center Dr.; and High St. between Rich and Broad streets.

 

Roads along the race route will begin closing at approximately 8 a.m. There will be rolling closures along the race course. Motorists who are not attending the events are advised to avoid the area. The race should conclude by noon.

 

5K Races - Competitive (8 a.m.); Coed Run (8:10 a.m.); Coed Walk (8:20 a.m.)

Races begin near City Hall (corner of Elm and Front); north on Front St.; east on Spring St.; north on High St.; west on Goodale St.; south on Park/Front St.; west on Nationwide Blvd.; south on Neil Ave.; east on Long St.; south on Marconi Blvd.; west on Broad St.; south on Belle St.; east on Town/Rich St.; north on High St. to the finish line by the Ohio Statehouse.

 

Mile Fun Walk Course (Starts at 9:15 a.m.)

Walk begins at City Hall (corner of Broad and Front); west on Broad St.; south on Belle St.; east on Town/Rich St.; north on High St. to the finish line by the Ohio Statehouse.

CAPA Summer Movie Series Tickets on Sale

The CAPA Summer Movie Series, the longest-running classic film series in America celebrates its 43rd anniversary this year. You will find an impressive assembly of classics, cult favorites and beloved films. The series runs June 28 - August 25 at the historic Ohio Theatre, with 27 films over nine weeks. Ticket strips can be purchased now through August 11 at the CAPA Ticket Center or at http://www.ticketmaster.com. Strips of 10 tickets are 25.00. Columbus Commons Fitness Classes

MadLab: Theatre Roulette 2013

MadLab will present the latest edition of Columbus' longest running shorts festival with three very distinct nights rotating over three weekends. All three nights of programming will be presented on the final day of the festival (May 26 at 2 p.m.). Tickets cost 12.00; 10.00 for students/seniors; 8.00 for members.
