Pearl Market Opening

May 14, 10:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Save the date for the opening of Pearl Market. Mayor Michael B. Coleman will kick off the summer market season at noon as he rides into Pearl and Lynn alleys on the back of a vintage 1940's John Deere tractor. You can check out the list of vendors who will be on hand all summer long here. Pearl Market will be open Tuesdays and Fridays, 10:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. from May 14 through October 25.

 

Pearl Market Farmers Offer CSA Shares

Several Pearl Market farmers are still offering CSA shares for this summer.

Hills Market Downtown: Charity Happy Hour Monday

Hills Market Downtown wants to see you eat well and help a charity in one fell swoop. On Mondays, Hills discounts the price of their hot or take-and-bake pizzas from 9.99 to 7.00, donating 1.00 of each pie sold to the charity of the week. They also host a charity happy hour from 5 - 8 p.m. with a charity bartender who serves up drinks, pocketing the tips for his/her charity. CAPA Summer Movie Series Tickets on Sale

The CAPA Summer Movie Series, the longest-running classic film series in America celebrates its 43rd anniversary this year. You will find an impressive assembly of classics, cult favorites and beloved films. The series runs June 28 - August 25 at the historic Ohio Theatre, with 27 films over nine weeks. Ticket strips can be purchased now through August 11 at the CAPA Ticket Center or at http://www.ticketmaster.com. Strips of 10 tickets are 25.00. Update to the Downtown Zoning Code

The City of Columbus is proposing an update to the Downtown District zoning code and a new companion set of Downtown Design Guidelines. The proposed changes are consistent with encouraging a dense, walkable, mixed-use downtown environment. The public comment period runs through May 31. CCAD Summer Art Classes

Adults and youth grades one to 12 can enjoy an expanded series of creative summer workshops on topic including digital arts, fashion design, studio arts and entrepreneurship. Registration is open up to the week prior to the start of each workshop or course throughout the summer at http://www.ccad.edu/ce. Programs begin May 13 and run through August 9. Columbus Commons Fitness Classes

Once again this year, fitness classes will be offered at the Columbus Commons free of charge. Classes include Bootcamp, Crossfit, Hip Hop, Kickboxing, Yoga and Zumba. MadLab: Theatre Roulette 2013

MadLab will present the latest edition of Columbus' longest running shorts festival with three very distinct nights rotating over three weekends.
