Resurfacing Projects Planned
The City of Columbus has embarked on a very active season of road resurfacing projects. Please watch for crews and equipment and be prepared for lane restrictions or flagging operations. Watch for parking restrictions; signs will be put up prior to the project. The projects begin with milling of the road followed by resurfacing about a week later. Access to businesses and residences is maintained during paving operations. Roads scheduled include parts of I-71, I-270, E. Main St. and US 62.

Vendor enrollment is now open for the 2013 Pearl Market. Street Speech Program Survey
The Columbus Coalition for the Homeless is seeking feedback from downtown employees, business owners, residents and visitors about its Street Speech Program, a program in which homeless or formerly homeless individuals sell Street Speech newspapers at various locations throughout Columbus. Please provide feedback online at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/StreetSpeech You can also forward the link to individuals who work and/or live downtown. The anonymous feedback will assist the Coalition in evaluating the overall value and effectiveness of the program. The survey only takes a few minutes to complete and is completely anonymous.
Cannon Firing Notice
The Civil War Cannons at the Ohio Statehouse will be fired on May 7 between 5:25 and 7 p.m. during an evening event. This will be part of a legislative vintage base ball game. The cannon will fire up to three times during the event. These sounds can be startling, so please be alert.
Hills Market Downtown: Charity Happy Hour Monday
Hills Market Downtown wants to see you eat well and help a charity in one fell swoop. Update to the Downtown Zoning Code
The City of Columbus is proposing an update to the Downtown District zoning code and a new companion set of Downtown Design Guidelines. The proposed changes are consistent with encouraging a dense, walkable, mixed-use downtown environment. The public comment period runs through May 31. CCAD Summer Art Classes
Adults and youth grades one to 12 can enjoy an expanded series of creative summer workshops on topic including digital arts, fashion design, studio arts and entrepreneurship. Columbus Commons Fitness Classes
Once again this year, fitness classes will be offered at the Columbus Commons free of charge. Classes include Bootcamp, Crossfit, Hip Hop, Kickboxing, Yoga and Zumba.
