CAPITAL CROSSROADS SPECIAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT
To Market, To Market

Dare we say it? Spring is here, which means Pearl Market is right around the corner. The Market opens Tuesday, May 14, and we can hardly wait to kick off the Ohio farmers' market season. (Psst... mark your calendar for the official kick off at noon. We've got some fun photo ops planned). We welcome back some favorite farmers and merchants and also some newbies that bring some social entrepreneurship to the urban alleyways.

The Columbus Coalition for the Homeless is seeking feedback from downtown employees, business owners, residents and visitors about its Street Speech Program, where homeless or formerly homeless individuals sell Street Speech newspapers at various locations throughout Columbus.

To offer your feedback, access the online survey here. You can also forward the link to others who could offer their thoughts. The feedback will be used by the Coalition in evaluating the overall value and effectiveness of the program.

All responses are anonymous, and it only takes a few minutes to complete.

Franklin Park Conservatory:
Local Gem
Spring is springing, albeit slower than we would like. If you can't get enough of gorgeous flowers and plants, maybe it's time to visit one of the jewels of Columbus: Franklin Park Conservatory. From the permanent collections, to special events, to current exhibitions, there is something for everyone.

This week the Conservatory hosts its annual fundraiser known as Hat Day (or for the Francophiles, Les Chapeaux dans le Jardin). This one-of-a-kind event brings together guests sporting their finest hats (think Derby Day) to eat, drink, visit and, this year, to enjoy special guest Tim Gunn, co-host of Project Runway. This event benefits the Conservatory's education and horticulture programs.

Click here to learn more about the myriad events and exhibits that make us so very lucky to have Franklin Park Conservatory in our back yard!
