Street Speech Program Survey

The Columbus Coalition for the Homeless is seeking feedback from downtown employees, business owners, residents and visitors about its Street Speech Program, a program in which homeless or formerly homeless individuals sell Street Speech newspapers at various locations throughout Columbus. Please provide feedback online at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/StreetSpeech You can also forward the link to individuals who work and/or live downtown. The anonymous feedback will assist the Coalition in evaluating the overall value and effectiveness of the program. The survey only takes a few minutes to complete.

 

Discover Dance Scholarship Auditions

BalletMet is holding auditions for its Discover Dance scholarship program on Saturday, April 20 at 4 p.m. at The BalletMet Dance Center at 322 Mount Vernon Avenue. The Intelligent Communities Forum has named Columbus in the top seven most intelligent cities in the world, and the only American city to make the list. The Ohio Statehouse will celebrate Earth Day by offering a no-cost fossil tour on Capitol Square. The tour departs from the Map Room and will explore the building stones that make up the Ohio Statehouse and Senate Office Building. The tour will be conducted by Dale M. 21st Ohio Tournament of Champions

Greater Columbus Convention Center

The Ohio Tournament of Champions is the largest one-day amateur wrestling tournament in the world. The event will feature close to 3,000 wrestlers competing on 30 mats, ranging in ages five - 50 from more than 30 states. CityMusic: Harmonia

Harmonia presents the traditional folk music of Eastern Europe, ranging from the Danube to the Carpathians. Its repertoire reflects the cultures of this region: Hungarian, Slovak, Ukranian, Romanian, Croatian and Gypsy. Performing on authentic folk instruments, and styled after turn-of-the-century East European Gypsy bands, their music is drawn from both the urban and rural traditions of Eastern Europe. This exhibition is the culmination of the students' design experience at The Ohio State University. The Repose of President Lincoln and Photo Exhibit

A special commemoration of the Repose of Abraham Lincoln will feature a re-enactment and a photo exhibit. The event is no cost and open to the public. The original coffin position in the Rotunda will be cordoned off and a mourning wreath will be placed at the site.
