|
HOUSING HighPoint at Columbus Commons broke ground this fall on a total of 301 units. Residents will begin moving in at the end of 2013.
OFFICE
The new Nationwide office building opened at Nationwide Boulevard and Front Street, adding approximately 1,000 new jobs to downtown. RETAIL Construction began on downtown's new specialty grocer, The Hills Market, at 95 North Grant Ave. Once open, Hills will occupy 12,000 square feet of full-service offerings including a deli counter, a large selection of hot and cold prepared foods, a full service bakery, a butcher counter, a wide selection of seafood, wine and beer, and household and pantry items.
HOSPITALITY The Hilton Columbus Downtown opened this fall with over 530 rooms connected to the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The contemporary hotel showcases over 150 original art pieces from local artists throughout the lobby, Gallerie Bar and Bistro, and guest rooms, and meeting space. It's already raising Columbus' profile as a destination for events and conferences.
TRANSPORTATION Capital Crossroads SID completed a comprehensive biking infrastructure project through a federal grant, adding approximately 325 bike parking spaces including shelters, lockers, specific bike rooms, and bike racks. The total investment was nearly $500,000 in the core of downtown.
ATTRACTIONS The Columbus Museum of Art introduced its West Garden, a public park and green space adjacent to the museum. The Bicentennial Pavilion opened at Columbus Commons for top-notch performances and entertainment year-round.
