Jersey Mike's Gives Back
| Throughout the month of March, Jersey Mike's Subs across the country offered customers a chance to support their favorite charity by giving an extra $1, $3 or $5 at the register. On their National Day of Giving (March 26th) every Jersey Mike's Subs store donated 100% of the proceeds to the charity of their choice.
United Way of Central Virginia was honored to partner once again with Scott Buckner and our two local Jersey Mike's Subs locations (3919 Wards Road and 3901 Old Forest Road) for this year's event. On Wednesday, the "Day of Giving", our local stores raised over $10,800 for United Way of Central Virginia. For the month of March they raised over $13,000 (and counting). Special thanks to Scott and his entire Jersey Mike's team; they certainly know what customer service and community service is all about! And many thanks to all of those who came out to support United Way of Central Virginia and Jersey Mike's!

YLS Spotlight
|
Fellow Young Leaders Society member, Kanika Davis, was crowned Ms. Wheelchair Virginia 2014 at a state-wide competition in Fishersville on March 15th. Her motto is "putting the wheels in motion". She wants to raise awareness about the need for handicap accessibility when traveling. During her reign, Kanika plans to be active in the community raising awareness and money for the Ms. Wheelchair Virginia program. We wish her luck as she prepares to head to the national competition in Long Beach, California this summer! Click here to see coverage from WSET. A huge thank you to:
Enterprise for donating a 15-passenger van so some of the YLS team could attend to cheer on Kanika & Sylvain Melloul International Hair Academy for their donation of hair and makeup services
