August 13, 2015
Dear Parents,
It is time to think about the 2015-2016 school year. I think all of the stores have been thinking about school since late June. With the weather beginning to get warm, it is hard to believe that we even have to think about school. I haven't even purchased my school clothes yet. I guess you can't take the kid out of the principal.
I will write a more welcoming letter next week, but it is time for you to know all of the "minutia" that will take place before school begins. Mrs. Nance, Mrs. Lamers and I decided to have two parent meetings to review things you will need to know before the school year begins. These meetings (which you are expected to attend one of them) will be at 6 pm. on August 20 or 24 at the middle school gym. Pre School parents can attend the meeting on the 20th, or come late on the 24th.
The agenda for the meeting will be:
- Technology - Google Classroom, Power School, Chromebook rules, etc.
- Website Review
- VIRTUS
- SCRIP
- Service Hours Review
- Home and School
- Key Event
- Athletics
- Hot Lunch and Handbook Items
I think that this meeting will go a long way in addressing some immediate items that the school contends with the first week of school. It is also my view that a meeting such as this will make your lives as parents easier as well.
My newsletter next week will be about the changes made over the summer that pertain to personnel, curriculum and building renovation projects that took place. I think it is important for you as parents to know about the "preseason" as it pertains to school.
Beginning of the year forms will be sent to you via email. We ask that you please fill them out completely and return them to us anytime on or before August 27th. We will have special collection times or you can drop them off at one of the school offices. More information on this in tomorrows email. Hard copies of these forms will be available in the offices.
Mrs. Nance, Mrs. Lamers and I are taking regular office hours at this time. Please call us if you have any questions or concerns prior to the first week of school.
Now as to my new school clothes...........
God Bless,
James A.( Jim) Clark, Principal
