Dear Notre Dame Families,

Yesterday we celebrated the final all school Mass for the 8th grade class.  It was a wonderful, touching occasion.  The 7th grade class shared their wishes and dreams for the 8th grade class in the form of hand made good luck cards.  Also a big thank you to Mr. Katona for his shout out to me and Mrs. Westhoven!!  The end of the year is an exciting yet sad time.  It is a time for new beginnings and some good-byes.  I hope to see you next week at the final Mass of the school year on Thursday June 5th.

Sound Check Fundraiser - A huge "THANK YOU" to everyone that has donated to the "Sound Check" fundraiser!! In just over one week, the "Sound Check" has raised just over $7,000!! That leaves us with $33,000 to our goal. If you have not donated yet and are able to, please do so soon! The "Sound Check" fundraiser will ensure that all of our children's voices will be heard with a new Middle School gymnasium audio system and equip both schools with Wi-Fi which is essential in utilizing the new technology purchased in the "Hard Drive" and the new Chromebooks that GRACE will be supplying to our school next year.
Every Friday until the end of the school year there will be a dress down day for $1 to help with this very important fundraiser. For more information and to donate to the Sound Check Fundraiser please click here

Interested in SPORTS or COACHING for next year? If you are interested we would like you to fill out this very brief survey so we can get an idea as to the number of students that will be participating in any sports next year.  This will help us plan how many teams to schedule for different sports. To take survey click: here

Parents of 8th Graders: Please make sure to pay any outstanding balances on lunch accounts before May 30th.  You can login to Powerschool to check your  balance or email Jodi Danen at jdanen@stmarydepere.org .  If your child has money in their account at the end of the year it will be rolled into a siblings account.  If you would like your money refunded please let us know.

Cafeteria News: The cafeteria will be serving its last lunch on Friday, May 30th (tomorrow).  There will be no hot lunch or milk those last couple of days of June. Make sure you children bring cold lunch on those days if needed.

Parish Picnics:  Can you believe it is almost SUMMER!
And summer brings hot days, time off from school, and of course, church picnics!!!  Notre Dame school has a wonderful tradition of supporting the St. Francis and St Mary's church picnics through leading and running the children's games.  Please consider signing up to help to work a shift for the picnic games at either St. Francis on Sunday, June 8th  from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm or at St. Mary's on Sunday, June 29th from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm
Shifts are approximately two hours long and require adults to sell tickets and supervise and children (ages 4th grade to 100 years old) to run the various games.  Volunteer hours will go toward next year's volunteer requirement.  As well as volunteering your time, we are looking for baked/bought treats and soda for the Cake/Soda Walk and any kind of prize donation such as small toys, stuffed animals, candy, happy meal toys, tattoos, stickers, etc.. What a great way to show support for the churches that do SO MUCH to help support our school!

Smart Cow: On Tuesday, June 3rd, Smart Cow on Oneida will be having a Notre Dame of De Pere Day. A portion of your purchase on that day will be donated to Notre Dame of De Pere.  To see the advertising poster click here. It reads that the donation will go to Notre Dame Middle School, but it is going to the entire school.  So have some sweet fun with the kiddos while supporting our school.

Summer SCRIP Hours: As many of you know SCRIP will be available during the summer at the middle school, 8:00 am - 10:00 am every Thursday starting June 12th. You can also purchase it at the weekend Masses at church.
Along with selling SCRIP, we will need volunteers to input the orders into the computer on Monday mornings and also people to pick up our local SCRIP from St. John's School and count the inventory on Wednesday mornings.
Any questions, please contact school at 920-337-1115 or Tracy Glover at nddpscrip@gmail.com
To volunteer with the SCRIP during the summer please click here.

SCRIP Statements: were sent out Tuesday to everyone with the balance due immediately. If you will be writing a check please make it out to Notre Dame SCRIP.  Any family of an 8th grader that is not up to date with that payment please note that we will withhold report cards and the forwarding of student files until your bill is paid.  SCRIP was part of an agreement that you agreed to when you enrolled your student at Notre Dame.  This is a vital source of funding for the school.

Immaculee Ilibagiza: As part of the 2013 Key Event activities, Immaculee Ilibagiza will be speaking at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Tuesday June 17 and we invite you to come and share in this extraordinary opportunity to hear her story.  For more information on the event click here and for the poster click here

Bonnie Blaylock would like to share the following with you: I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to the Notre Dame faculty and staff, to the wonderful families of Notre Dame, and especially to my many first and second grade students over the past 24 years.  I have loved teaching at Notre Dame and will truly miss working with the faculty and staff here.  They are an amazing group of people.  I will also miss the students and families of Notre Dame - they are what make the school so wonderful and unique.  This school has been my second family and I will always treasure the time that I have spent here.  I have learned so much from all of you.  Notre Dame will always have a very special place in my heart, and will remain in my prayers as well.  Thank you for the opportunity to work at Notre Dame.  God Bless!

Let your Light Shine,

Jeff
