"Most importantly, a Catholic school is a community of individuals--teachers, students, parents--who actively participate in enriching young people's education and lives. We have the freedom of being able to worship, pray and experience God through all aspects of our education. Indeed, God is at the center of our learning experience."

Dear Notre Dame Families,
Catholic Schools Week is right around the corner...Jan. 26-Feb. 1. Notre Dame's week to celebrate Catholic Schools kicks off with a 9:00 A.M. Mass at St. Francis this Sunday!! The Mass is being prepared by Notre Dame families. Immediately following Mass there will be an Open House in the ES gym. Both the Mass and Open House are designed to say "Thank You," to St. Mary's/St. Francis parishioners and show off our great school to potential new families! We want to continue to grow so bring your friends. The Open House will include a a pancake breakfast (complimentary), a chance to meet our wonderful teachers from Preschool through 8, tour the building, and learn more about Notre Dame (including our "Acts of Kindness" prayers). Thank you to all that have already volunteered. We could not pull this event off without help from YOU! Click here for many of the opportunities to volunteer. If you would like more information on what will be happening during Catholic Schools Week please consult our website.
2014-2015 Registration begins on Jan. 26!!! Register during Catholic Schools Week to take advantage of the $30 registration fee. If families miss the half-price rate, they can register at the $60 rate during the month of February. Beginning March 1st, the rate increases to $100. Returning students will receive a link to register.

Financial assistance is available for existing and new families from a variety of sources including Grace (Green Bay Area Catholic Education), directly from Notre Dame, the Scrip Program and now from the Parental Choice Program (vouchers). Make YOUR TAX DOLLARS work for you and Notre Dame by applying for this program. Application process for the Parental Choice Program opens February 2nd through April 20th. There will be informational meetings on:
Thursday, January 30th at 6:30 pm at Notre Dame Academy
Monday, February 24th at 6:30 pm at Our Lady of Lourdes School
Are you aware there is a Notre Dame quilt shop right here in our school? The St. Mary's Quilters are located in the room across from the Elementary School office. This year the Quilters are going to be part of the Open House on January 26th and their will be ladies present to demonstrate what they do. In honor of Catholic Schools Week, they will donate 20% of any sale or order that they receive during that week to Notre Dame of De Pere. Stop by and meet some of our Quilters and see some of the beautiful quilts ranging from baby to king size. What a wonderful way to give our children and grandchildren a gift (and give back to Notre Dame) to be remembered for a lifetime!
Other School News:
Middle Schoolers will now be allowed to carry backpacks from class to class. Backpacks should include school books, and school supplies only (no stuffed toys, cell phones etc). This request was presented by Maddie Polack and Maddie Woodward as a way to help with organization. The teachers agree; so students please make sure you have all of your supplies and homework ready if you plan to use your backpacks. This program will begin on next week Monday!!
All students are allowed to carry containers filled with drinking water during the school day (coffee, sugary soft drinks etc. are not allowed). Middle Schoolers are allowed snacks during 3rd and 4th hours. Students should eat a solid breakfast prior to arriving at school. Please make sure that your students arrive at school on time and ready to "enjoy" and participate! Arriving on time is very important to create a positive learning environment.
T-Shirt Tuesday will begin the week after Catholic Schools Week (Feb. 4th). T-Shirt Tuesday is a day when everyone will be able to wear their Spirit shirts with uniform pants/skirts. It will be every Tuesday unless noted.
Let your light Shine,
Jeff
