Dear Notre Dame Families,
I hope that you have all survived the "Great Winter Blast" from the artic circle. Bring on the warm weather!!!
Many of you have expressed an interest in learning more about our new math curriculum named, "Math Expressions." Mary Richards, who has done in-service specifically for Notre Dame teachers will be at the Dolski Center at 6:00 P.M. this Monday, January 13th to share over forty years of experience teaching, advising, and coaching children, teachers, and parents about math. Mary was the curriculum leader in her district when Math Expressions was introduced in 2006. Mary has won many awards including the Herb Kohl Fellowship and a Presidential Awardee (in 1991 under Bush I), comes with high praise from our teachers/staff, and in her own words "wants to help children better understand math concepts." Please join us for this informational meeting about elementary school math and specifically Math Expressions.
Bellin Run Training Program:
We are looking for someone that can take over the Bellin Run Kids Training Program. We typically run 3 days/week right after school. You don't have to be a runner, but we do need people to run with the kids as we have many different speeds that the kids run at.
We typically start in April and it runs right up until the race. There are guidelines they give us and tools we can use. Once track season is over, we typically have middle school kids that can help run but that's not until May.
Please contact Lynn Wolfram at 660-7603 ASAP so we can continue to host this at our school. If we don't find anyone, we will no longer be able to provide this to our kids.
