Dear Notre Dame Families:
I hope that you are enjoying the beautiful fall weather!
I am always proud of our ES and MS students, and I want to share with you a particular example where I am sure all of you will say or think "that's my boy/girl!!" I recently gave a tour to a prospective family for the 2014/2015 school year. As I was giving the tour Alex Gryboski (there were others as well--I just didn't get all their names) went up to the mom and dad, completely unscripted, looked them in the eye and shook each of the parent's hand and said "welcome to Notre Dame!" The parents were clearly very impressed!! I think we can count on two new students for next year. Thank you Alex (and all the other students and their parents for setting such a great example!!
Parent Teacher Conferences:
Parents, we are going to try something new this year for conference sign up. Signing up for conferences will be done online via a sign up genius. The Middle and Elementary Schools will be conducting parent teacher conferences for grades Kindergarten thru Eighth on Wednesday October 23 (3:30pm-8:00pm) and Thursday, October 24 (12:30pm-8:00pm). The Sign-up Genius will open promptly at 5:00 P.M. tonight and will close 24 hours prior to the start of conferences.
Middle School conferences will be scheduled with each teacher in 10 minute time slots. All middle school and specials teachers will be available in the MS Gym to meet with you at your assigned time.
Elementary School conferences will be scheduled with the homeroom teacher in 15 minute time slots. All elementary school teachers will be available in your child's homeroom to meet with you at your assigned time. Specials teachers will be in the MS Gym.
- Only one person per time slot.
- As a courtesy to others please hold firm to the time allotted for your visit.
- If you feel you have more to discuss with an individual teacher you can make an appointment with any given teacher for further discussion.
- All specials teachers (Art, Computer, Music, Phy. Ed and Spanish) will be available in the middle school gym.
- For Supportive Consultant - Jean Healy, please contact her directly to set up a time. jhealy@gracesystem.org
- Please sign up early to insure your desired time slot. It is on a first come first serve basis.
- If something comes up and you can not make your time slot please remove your name from the list so someone else can sign up.
- Middle school families that have more than one child at the middle school, please plan to discuss all children in one time slot.
Staff Updates:
We want to welcome Lisa Shoemaker, our new Kindergarten Aide and Carol Pisani, our new 4th Grade Aide. Also, Dan Schultz will have additional duties as an Aide at the MS on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
Seroogy order forms will be going home and the deadline to place an order is Nov. 12
Families that turned in their completed ND paperwork by Aug. 29th were eligible to win a $25 gas card. And the winner is...the John & Jacky Nystrom Family. Families that turned in their Home & School dues by Sept.15th were eligible to win a $25 gas card. Drum roll please for...the Wally & Rachel Cloud Family. Congratulations!

Cafeteria News:
When volunteering to serve lunch in the cafeteria please be in the kitchen no later than 11:10 to get your hands washed and to get brief instructions for the day. Children start coming for lunch at 11:15.
Last month we kicked off the addition of our snack bar at the lunch hour. It is available to kids in 1st-8th grade taking both cold or hot lunch. Currently, the choices we are offering include yogurt cups or string cheese for $0.50 and nut free granola bars or water bottles for $1.00. These items can be paid in cash or be deducted from your child's lunch account. We are encouraging kids to finish their meals first and check with their parents about these foods. Thanks for supporting the ND lunch program!
