Dear Notre Dame Families:

Dear ND families,

We hope you have an enjoyable upcoming Memorial Day week-end with your family and friends.  Thanks to all the parents and grandparents that showed up for The Lion King last week.   It was a great way to see our 8th graders perform one more time.  Teachers are still working hard to finish up the 2012-2013 on a positive note.  There is still more learning to do.   Have a fantastic long week-end and come back ready to finish out our school year.

From Fr. Dane: I wish to inform you of the death of one of our GRACE pastors.  Fr. Tom Hagendorf, O. Praem., pastor of Holy Cross Parish, passed away unexpectedly on Friday.  It appears that he died of a heart attack on Friday afternoon or evening.  He celebrated his final Mass on Friday morning with the school children after which they sang 'Happy Birthday.' Fr. Tom would have turned 77 today.  Let us pray for the Holy Cross community.

From Mr. Steckart: Congratulations to the ND tennis team who overcame Mother Nature to have a great season.  Everyone did very well and improved their game.  We can look forward to building on our success next season.  A special thank you to all the parents.  Your support was very important in making our season a positive experience.

After School Program Request: The school year is winding down fast!  If you have any leftover used school supplies that you no longer need---markers, crayons, glue sticks, erasers, pencils, etc.  Please consider donating them to the Notre Dame After School Program.  If you would like to donate any of these items, please hand them in to the office.  Thanks for your help!!!

Cafeteria: Parents, The cafeteria needs your help in finishing the end of a great year.  Please make sure to pay any negative balances on your child/children's hot lunch accounts as soon as possible.  All extra money will be rolled over to the next school year.  Thank you for supporting our hot lunch program!  Also, June 4th is the last day hot lunch will be served.

Can you believe it is almost SUMMER!

And summer brings hot days, time off from school, and of course, church picnics!!!

Notre Dame school has a wonderful tradition of supporting the St. Francis and St Mary's church picnics through leading and running the children's games.

Please consider signing up to help to work a shift for the picnic games at either St. Francis on Sunday, June 2nd  from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm or at St. Mary's on Sunday, August 11th from 10:45 am to 4:00 pm

Shifts are approximately two hours long and require one parent to sell tickets and supervise and 6 children (ages 4th grade to 100 years old) to run the various games.  Volunteer hours will go toward next year's volunteer requirement.  As well as volunteering your time, we are looking for baked/bought treats and soda for the Cake/Soda Walk and any kind of prize donation such as small toys, stuffed animals, candy, happy meal toys, tattoos, stickers, etc..

What a great way to show support for the churches that do SO MUCH to help support our school!
