A celebration for Mom---the Augustine Family enjoying Muffins for Mom!

Dear Notre Dame Families:

Thank you for the wonderful welcome back to ND of DP. Additionally, I want to thank Jeff Young (teacher in charge at the ES) and Kevin Scharten (teacher in charge at the MS) for the all their support and help while I was out. With the help Mr. Schwarten, Mr. Young, the entire teaching/staff, parents, and students school proceeded as usual.

We have finally received some warm spring days and that brings a different wardrobe. Please make sure that your child is following the Notre Dame dress code, which can be found on our website. Socks need to be visible and be white, red, or navy.   Shorts need to be navy or tan in color. Sweatshirts can be worn for recess, but need to be removed in the school. Shirts need to be tucked in at all time. Thank you for your help with this matter.

Are you interested in getting more involved in Notre Dame of De Pere overall?  This is the time of year we are looking for interested parents to serve on the Site Advisory Council of the school (this is the group that replaced the school board in 2010).  The SAC meets on the last Tuesday of each month at 6:00 pm; and the meetings count towards your family volunteer hours.   If you are interested in joining this enthusiastic and engaged group, please email or call Julie Van Straten at julie.vanstraten@uhc.com or 920/360-3098 for more information and details.

Last Chance to check out the lost and found items at both schools.  Any items not claimed by Friday, May 17th will be donated.

Please turn in the Lamers Bus Form by May 17th.

JUMP WITH JOY,

Jeff

fathankyouThank You!!

Hello ND Families,

A HUGE thank you to all the parents and children who donated money to the FA dress down day two weeks ago.  We are so very blessed to be surrounded by a community who supports Evan, Becca and our family's fight to find a cure for Fanconi Anemia.  We hope the kindness you have shown our family will be returned to you in the generous way it was given!

cafeteriaCafeteria News
The end of the school year is rapidly approaching! Parents would be impressed to see all the lunch trays filled with colorful fruits and veggies that their children enjoyed this year. We just wanted to note that any money left over in your child/children's lunch accounts will be rolled over into their account for the 2013/2014 school year.

There are a few options for our 8th grade students.

1. Money left over can be refunded

2. Money can be transferred to a siblings account

3. Money can be donated to help improve our cafeteria

*All money will be transferred or donated unless we hear from you.

Please make sure your children's lunch accounts are up to date and paid in full before the school year is over.   Please contact the cafeteria at 337-1104 or email us at jdanen@stmarydepere.org  if you have any questions.

Thank you so much for supporting the Notre Dame hot lunch program!

Thanks!

picnicgamesPicnic Games

Hello parents!

I realize this is a very busy time of year but we still have a fundraising event that has been scheduled since the beginning of the school year:  Childrens' games for the St. Francis Church's Picnic. According to the grade specific volunteer model we are using this year (As to not be asked to volunteer for every event, classes have been assigned to specific event this school year - we hope it has helped!), the 5th and 6th grade classes have been assigned to staff this event.  Still, if you or your child(ren) can't get enough of servicing their school or church, or you just really like church picnics, we would love to have your help as well.  The picnic games are being held June 2nd, Sunday, from 9:30am to 3:30pm.  School is still in session so hopefully you are not quite in summer mode.  Shifts are two hours long and require one parent to sell tickets and supervise and 6 children (ages 4th grade to 100 years old) to run the various games.  Volunteer hours will go toward next year's volunteer requirement.  As well as volunteering your time, we are looking for baked/bought treats and soda for the Cake/Soda Walk and any kind of prize donation such as small toys, stuffed animals, candy, happy meal toys, tattoos, stickers, etc..  Please use this Sign Up Genius to volunteer in any (or all - one can hope!) of the above ways mentioned.

With much appreciation,

ttbasketballTriple Threat Basketball
We wanted to share with you a business we are launching for this summer. Triple Threat Green Bay Basketball will provide a staff of former UW-Green Bay players and staff that are focused on helping your daughter or son develop in the game of basketball. Not only will we be looking to enhance their skill level, but also the athletes'overall understanding of the game of basketball.
Our staff is not just looking to make money this summer, but are more concerned with being invested in the athlete and can help them achieve their goals and dreams. Triple Threat Basketball Green Bay offers individual and group basketball workouts. These workouts will be tailored to the individuals and what they want to improve on and need to improve on. All of our Triple Threat Basketball athletes will be given a pre-evaluation and post-evaluation. We will have player profiles that will help us get to know the individual better and what their summer goals are.

boldBOLD Camp
St. Norbert College will be hosting its first Boys Overall Leadership and Development (BOLD) Camp this summer on July 22-26. After five years of providing leadership opportunities for the area's young girls through its very successful GLAD Camp, we have initiated a similar program for boys.

BOLD Camp, for boys in grades 4-8, is designed to build self-confidence, leadership skills and respect for others in a fun, supportive setting.  Campers will discover the values of teamwork, integrity and brotherhood while exploring their individual talents and learning to recognize and respect the talents of others.  Camp staff is made up of Wisconsin-certified male teachers who are chosen for their ability to be good role models.  More information on BOLD can be found at  www.snc.edu/bold

Scholarships are also available and you can contact me for more information on the nomination process.  I can be reached at this email or by phone at 920-403-3165.

Thank you in advance for considering the BOLD Camp opportunity for your students.
