Grandparents enjoying time with their grandchildren at Notre Dame Grandparents Day.

Dear Notre Dame Families:

Grandparents Day was a huge sucess!  Thank you to Rebecca Ludtke and her team.  Mrs. Cramer's first graders and Mrs Blaylock's youngers did a wonderful job singing and preparing the Mass. Father Judah gave an inspiring sermon. We kicked off the new Grandparent's Auxiliary (grandparent volunteers for Notre Dame). More to come on the Grandparent's Auxiliary!  Thank you Grandparents for attending Mass and thank you for supporting your children and grandchildren!!!!! at Notre Dame of De Pere. 

We also kicked off our spring fundraiser appropriately named "Hard Drive". The goal for this fundraiser is to raise enough money ($40,000) so we can update the computer labs and other technology in both the middle school and elementary school.  Our pc's are eight years old and in technology years that is old.  We hope to complete the pc upgrade and wireless upgrade to prepare for "bring your own devices."    

Tomorrow is a half day due to teacher in-service.  The teaching staff will enjoy lunch (pasties) from Home and School. Thank you Kathy Nordeen and Home and School.  Afterward the elementary school teachers will have an in-service focused on our new elementary school math program  called "Math Expressions". I am very excited about this new program and I think you will be too!! At the middle school level teachers will learn how to create lessons using an advanced display technology named "Mimio" (similar to Smartboards).  These in-services will help provide teachers with the tools to enhance our already great teaching staff!!    

As promised, here are the additional details regarding my upcoming leave. I have been in contact with Father Dane regarding my pending surgery (April 24th). During my absence Kevin Schwarten (MS science teacher) will be the teacher in charge at the middle school and Jeff Young (ES fifth grade teacher) will be the teacher in charge at the elementary school.  As teachers in charge of ES and MS buildings, Jeff and Kevin will be responsible for the day to day functions of the school.  I have complete confidence in Kevin and Jeff! As I have told many of you before I knew of this health issue, our great teachers/staff can easily manage ND and that they make my job easy and fun!!! I will be unavailable for about five school days.  Please call me any time on my cell phone #920-217-4684 and I will get back to you ASAP. Please keep in mind that Father Dane (former principal at Notre Dame Academey and current President of Grace) will not be far away.

How do I win?

It's easy! Complete the GRACE registration process for your student for the 2013/2014 school year at Notre Dame of De Pere by April 25^th. One lucky name will be drawn to win.

Why are we doing this?

It is important to have students register as early as possible to provide the best planning for next year. Notre Dame Home & School is supporting this effort through this drawing.

What if I have started the process but am not finished with it yet?

All students/families that are 100% complete with the registration process will be eligible. If you complete the registration process by April 25^th, you will be included in the drawing.

What if I completed my students' registration in February?

You will be included! Thank you for your early registration!
