Thing 1 (Emily Noble), Thing 2 (Eddie Noble), Thing 3 (Ian Noble), Thing 4 (Claire Noble)
Dear Notre Dame Families:
As you can see from the picture above Notre Dame celebrated Dr. Suess day this past Friday! Students dressed up as Dr. Suess characters. How cool is that! Middle school and elementary school students read Dr. Suess books to each other. Just look below:
Emily Martin (8th), Sophie VanDenPlas (2nd), and Elizabeth Werner (2nd) read together.
Today, I walked into three classes (unannounced) and observed three great lessons. 1. In Ms. Weiss's eighth grade language arts class three students were conducting a debate on the merits of delivering mail on Saturday. If the audience agreed with the point they shouted Here! Here! and if they disagreed they shouted Shame! Shame! The debates were developed from research papers the students had previously written. Each student wrote a research paper and took part in a debate about their research. 2. Ms. Smits social studies class was using the computer lab to create facebook pages for great historical figures such as Abraham Lincoln and Andrew Johnson. What a great way to combine the technologies of today while learning about historical personalities of the past. 3. In Mr. Schwarten's science class the students were making rock candy. The students were learning about the science concepts of solubility and saturated solutions. Making candy and learning about science, another great combination!
These are the kinds of "hands on" lessons that keep students interested and learning. You can see hands on lessons in our school every day if you just happen to walk in a classroom like I did today.
BELLIN RUN TRAINING We are looking for someone to be the lead person for our Bellin Run Trainings here at Notre Dame. It is a great way for kids to train for this wonderful event and a great way to keep them healthy. The Run will be held June 8th this year. We have had a few people come forward and say that they can help on certain days, but we need someone that can take the lead. Please contact me within the next couple of weeks or we will not be able to hold the training runs at our school. Please don't let this leave our school. Please contact Lynn Wolfram 920-660-7603 or lwolfram00@yahoo.com
JUMP WITH JOY,
Jeff

Evan's Enchanted Evening
|
Hello Parents and Friends,
Hello. Our names are Kim and John Connelly. We have five children at Notre Dame of De Pere this year and a two year at home. Two of our children, Evan who is in 5th grade and Becca who is two years old, have Fanconi Anemia (FA). Fanconi Anemia is a rare genetic disorder that affects their DNA repairing ability. On March 9th, we would like to invite you to Evan's Enchanted Evening. It is an elegant night of dinner, dancing, live/silent auctions and hope. All money raised goes to helping find better bone marrow transplant methods, screening and treatments for numerous kinds of cancers, tumors and leukemias and, someday, a cure for this disease. For more information on the event, to attend or donate an item or monetary amount, please visit our Facebook event site at www.facebook.com/events/338831456202434 or contact us personally at #339-0503. We would love for you to attend and would gratefully accept any help you can give.
With sincere gratitude for all you mean to us and do for our family, Kim and John Connelly

BELLIN RUN TRAINING
We are looking for someone to be the lead person for our Bellin Run Trainings here at Notre Dame.
Track: Practice will tentatively start Monday March 25. We will be having practice the 25th - 27th of that week from 3:15 - 4:30, depending on the weather. A Parent's Meeting will be held the week after spring break with all the practice times and track meets. Look for an email from Lynn Wolfram about more information in the next day or so. If you son or daughter hasn't signed up, please contact Lynn Wolfram at: 920-660-7603 or lwolfram00@yahoo.com
Football: There will be a meeting for all parents and kids, who will be going into 6th - 8th grade next year, who are interested in playing football. The meeting will be held in the Middle School gym on Tue. March 26th at 5:00. We will be discussing next year's practice and game schedules, uniforms, player fees, etc. Please mark your calendar for this meeting. If you have any questions, please contact Lynn Wolfram at 920-660-7603 or lwolfram00@yahoo.com
TRACK COACH WANTED:
It's hard to think about the track season, but it's right around the corner. We are looking for a Middle School Track Coach. We have several parents who helped out last year that are willing to help again, but we need someone to be the lead person. Track is for 6-8 graders and we usually have about 60 kids that come out for it. It's a great healthy activity to keep the kids active in the spring. Last year, our teams broke 8 records so we've got some talented kids to work with. The season runs from April to Mid May.
If you are interested or know of someone that may be, please call Lynn Wolfram at 920-660-7603 for more details.
BELLIN RUN:
Once again we would like to offer the Bellin Run Training Program at our school. As most of you know, Susan Moran has been our lead person for many years. Her daughter has graduated from Notre Dame so we are looking for some families that are willing to help us out with this program. I'm willing to help, but I also help with the track program so I'm looking for some parents that can help me out. You don't need to be a fast runner or if you can't run, you can also bike with the kids. This is a great activity for the younger kids. We usually start them around the 2nd or 3rd grade depending on the child. Training usually runs from April - June and we usually try to run right after school 2-3 days. Please consider helping out so we can continue to offer this at our school. Please contact me (Lynn Wolfram) if interested at 920-660-7603.
