Mrs. Herber's 7th Hour Spanish Class -- On the Red Carpet for their Spanish Fashion Show!! Dear Notre Dame Families: It is absolutely amazing how fast the second trimester is coming to an end. Tomorrow, which is the a half day, is the last day of the trimester. I know this stretch of school is a long one. Our next major break is Spring break which begins with a half day on Thursday, March 28th. School spirit is high so let's work hard and play hard and before you know it Spring break will be here!!! The teachers were busy this week with two major projects after school. At MS we did a "dry run" (without children present) to practice for a "level three" lock down. A level three lock down would occur if their was an intruder in the building. The De Pere police helped, with five officers they watched and made suggestions. We learned some things but overall the practice went well. We will be scheduling a "dry run" (without children present) for the ES soon. Eventually, there will be a lock down practice with children present. The children will be prepped before this happens. The other project was AED training for the entire staff. Thank you Dr. Frain and Project Adam for arranging the training. The teachers were all given CPR training and were trained on how to use a defibrillator. The training was extremely valuable. We hope to do this training annually to make sure we remain current and confident in applying CPR and the use a defibrillator. There in AED in each school building. The Heritage Academy of Irish Dance, including the following Notre Dame students -- Josey Afshat, Meghan Dwyer, Madison Kaster, Ciara Van Dreese, and Sinead Van Dreese -- will be supporting Cerebral Palsy, Inc. (the local CP Center) by fundraising for and performing live on television during the upcoming 58th Annual CP Telethon. Way to go girls!!! In support of this wonderful community fundraiser, we will be having a non-uniform day tomorrow for $1 with the proceeds going to the CP Center. See below for more information on how you can contribute. Irish Academy of Dance We are still in need of volunteers to sell SCRIP. Sign up on the website under SCRIP. Thank you in advance for your help. JUMP WITH JOY, Jeff

Support for Cerebral Palsy
|
The Heritage Academy of Irish Dance, including the following Notre Dame students - Josey Afshar, Meghan Dwyer, Madison Kaster, Ciara Van Dreese, and Sinead Van Dreese - will be supporting Cerebral Palsy, Inc. (the local CP Center) by fundraising for and performing live on television during the upcoming 58th Annual CP Telethon. The telethon will air on Channel 2 WBAY-TV on March 2 and 3 and is the longest running telethon in the nation.
The dancers decided to support the CP Center because it is a non-profit organization that supports babies, children, and adults with Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Brain and Head Injuries, Amputees, Diabetes, Chronic Pain.....just to name a few. The CP Center helps over 1200 families throughout 17 counties in Northeast Wisconsin every year.
In support of this wonderful community fundraiser, Friday, March 1, will be a non-uniform day for $1 with the proceeds going to the CP Center. In addition, any families who would like to make an additional donation can make checks payable to Cerebral Palsy, Inc.
This is a fantastic opportunity for our Notre Dame dancers to experience performing in a unique setting, as well as to learn the value of supporting our community. They will be performing on Sunday, March 3, at approximately 11:15 A.M.

Evan's Enchanted Evening
|
Hello Parents and Friends,
Hello. Our names are Kim and John Connelly. We have five children at Notre Dame of De Pere this year and a two year at home. Two of our children, Evan who is in 5th grade and Becca who is two years old, have Fanconi Anemia (FA). Fanconi Anemia is a rare genetic disorder that affects their DNA repairing ability. On March 9th, we would like to invite you to Evan's Enchanted Evening. It is an elegant night of dinner, dancing, live/silent auctions and hope. All money raised goes to helping find better bone marrow transplant methods, screening and treatments for numerous kinds of cancers, tumors and leukemias and, someday, a cure for this disease. For more information on the event, to attend or donate an item or monetary amount, please visit our Facebook event site at www.facebook.com/events/338831456202434 or contact us personally at #339-0503. We would love for you to attend and would gratefully accept any help you can give.
With sincere gratitude for all you mean to us and do for our family, Kim and John Connelly

TRACK COACH WANTED:
It's hard to think about the track season, but it's right around the corner. We are looking for a Middle School Track Coach. We have several parents who helped out last year that are willing to help again, but we need someone to be the lead person. Track is for 6-8 graders and we usually have about 60 kids that come out for it. It's a great healthy activity to keep the kids active in the spring. Last year, our teams broke 8 records so we've got some talented kids to work with. The season runs from April to Mid May.
If you are interested or know of someone that may be, please call Lynn Wolfram at 920-660-7603 for more details.
BELLIN RUN:
Once again we would like to offer the Bellin Run Training Program at our school. As most of you know, Susan Moran has been our lead person for many years. Her daughter has graduated from Notre Dame so we are looking for some families that are willing to help us out with this program. I'm willing to help, but I also help with the track program so I'm looking for some parents that can help me out. You don't need to be a fast runner or if you can't run, you can also bike with the kids. This is a great activity for the younger kids. We usually start them around the 2nd or 3rd grade depending on the child. Training usually runs from April - June and we usually try to run right after school 2-3 days. Please consider helping out so we can continue to offer this at our school. Please contact me (Lynn Wolfram) if interested at 920-660-7603.
