Prayer Blanket Mrs. Ertman and her sons Lane and Evan present one of many "prayer blankets" at Mass for cancer patients.

Dear Notre Dame Families:

Thank you, Joel De Moulin (good luck fishing!) and his team for all their help with the "Island Carnival."  We had teachers, alumni, students, future students etc. in attendance all seemed to have a great time.  The event raised a record amount of money.

Thank you for your generous donations to Notre Dame of De Pere!!  Your help, in both volunteer hours and contributions is invaluable.  Notre Dame of De Pere has had another great fundraising year and we are happy to announce we have exceeded the Grace third source fundraising goal.

We are not finished yet!!! All additional fundraising dollars raised can be used to fund equipment/needs for Notre Dame of De Pere. The areas we are targeting include: new computers for each of the computer labs, smart boards for each classroom, add to the tuition assistance fund, and a new math series for the elementary school (Math Expressions) to align with the common core standards.  See Fundraising Details below for more information.

Battle of the Books: The best way to celebrate" I love reading" months is to join the annual Battle of the Books. This year's selections have adventure, mystery, and self discovery.  So, gather three friends and start reading.  A full list of books, summaries, and information can be found on the Notre Dame website under the student activity tab then click battle of the books.  Come join the adventure and discover something about yourself. The best way to say you love reading during the month of February is to read for Battle of the Books.

Uniform Policy:  As the school year progresses and the children are growing taller, the teachers have noticed that the hem lines are going up as well. We have discussed with the middle school girls what would be a proper length of the skirt.  We ask that you take a look at the skirts and lengthen the hem if they are not close to the knee,  It is up to the teacher's discretion to site a child if the length is too short.  I understand how difficult it is to keep on top of these things, but it is our duty to let you know when the length has become inappropriate for school and Mass.  We will be working on a new dress code policy with more defined parameters for the fall.  Thank you for your understanding and attention to this matter.

JUMP WITH JOY,

Jeff

helpWe Need Your Help!!!
Hello ND Families,

WE NEED YOUR HELP!  While the first trimester went very well with parents signing up to work the lunch/recess volunteer shifts, the second trimester has been a bigger struggle. Teachers have had to skip their lunch breaks repeatedly over the last month to help fill in when we did not have volunteers to cover our shifts or with last minute cancellations. OVER THE NEXT 4 WEEKS WE STILL HAVE 21 VOLUNTEER SLOTS TO FILL!  If you have not already signed up for your second trimester shift, OR if you are willing to take additional shifts, you can sign up using the following link:  http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0A4CACAA2AA57-notre Within the next week we will be contacting families that have not filled their second semester obligation to schedule a lunch/recess shift.

You may also sign up for the third trimester now if it helps your planning, or you can wait for the reminder that will be sent out a few weeks before the last trimester begins. PLEASE REMEMBER: Notre Dame is asking for each family to volunteer for one slot per trimester, or more if you wish!

Please keep in mind that your TIME SPENT VOLUNTEERING FOR THIS PROGRAM IS WORTH DOUBLE towards your required FAMILY REQUIRED HOURS.

***Cancellations 48 hours before the day of your shift can be directed to the secretaries of the appropriate schools as the teachers/aides will need to fill in.

Thank you for helping to keep out children well supervised and safe!

scripSCRIP
Below is the sign up for selling scrip.  This is a new sign up sheet starting in January.  I would like to be able to still sell on Wed, Thur and Friday, however we do need people to sign up to sell.  Notre Dame benefits tremendously from our scrip program, but we need many volunteers to keep this running.

Mrs. Nance has been kind enough to have it in the office, however it gets very busy in there in the mornings and after school and there is a lot going on right now.  I would rather we have sellers that can do the selling.  Also, we need to keep our selling hours consistent because it helps us with inventory and entering that we have to do for scrip too.

Please click on the link below to sign up for a few slots for selling scrip.  The link is also located on the school website under Scrip.
Thank you in advance for helping with our scrip program.

Athletics Announcement
TRACK COACH WANTED:
It's hard to think about the track season, but it's right around the corner.  We are looking for a Middle School Track Coach.  We have several parents who helped out last year that are willing to help again, but we need someone to be the lead person.  Track is for 6-8 graders and we usually have about 60 kids that come out for it.  It's a great healthy activity to keep the kids active in the spring.  Last year, our teams broke 8 records so we've got some talented kids to work with.  The season runs from April to Mid May.
If you are interested or know of someone that may be, please call Lynn Wolfram at 920-660-7603 for more details.

BELLIN RUN:
Once again we would like to offer the Bellin Run Training Program at our school.  As most of you know, Susan Moran has been our lead person for many years.  Her daughter has graduated from Notre Dame so we are looking for some families that are willing to help us out with this program.  I'm willing to help, but I also help with the track program so I'm looking for some parents that can help me out.  You don't need to be a fast runner or if you can't run, you can also bike with the kids.  This is a great activity for the younger kids.  We usually start them around the 2nd or 3rd grade depending on the child.  Training usually runs from April - June and we usually try to run right after school 2-3 days.  Please consider helping out so we can continue to offer this at our school.  Please contact me (Lynn Wolfram) if interested at 920-660-7603.
