Invite someone to the Open House on January 27th!
Dear Notre Dame Families:
In addition to our fantastic plans for Catholic Schools Week that will be kicked off by our Open House on January 27th, we have also invited families from over 3,600 households in our neighboring communities to come see what makes Notre Dame of De Pere so special. Attached is a copy of the postcard that was mailed out just today. If you know of a family that might be interested in learning more about our great school please forward it along to them as well. We'd love more families to come to our Open House or have prospective students visit us during scheduled Shadow Days in February or by appointment. While we hope to attract new families to experience the magic of ND with our direct mail piece, we do know that our best advertisers have been our own tremendous families. You can direct potential new students/families to www.ndofdp.com, where they can see a video about student life at ND or sign up for Shadow Days. We are looking to have Notre Dame continue to grow for its 4th straight year!!!!!
A special thank you to David and Stacy Richards of burnham richards and Tom and Kate Burgess of Fulfillnet, Inc. for sharing their talents and making this postcard mailer a reality.
Security: Officer Jedd Bradley toured both buildings today. He is familiar with security procedures at schools throughout the De Pere school districts. He gave us several great suggestions. We, along with Officer Bradley, will be meeting with "all" staff next week Wednesday to discuss and practice lock down procedures. After a "dry run" with teachers/staff we will schedule a live lock down (with the presence of De Pere police in street clothes) to ensure the integrity of Notre Dame procedures.
Notre Dame students, teachers/staff, and families have been unbelievable with their prayers, and support! for me! Thank you!!! Going forward this newsletter will be devoted to school news. You will be able to follow my journey by going to: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/jeffrykaftan
We would like to thank all those who donated the supplies and their time to make our meal for St. John's homeless shelter such a success!! The middle school students had a fun opportunity to do some service and learn some lifelong cooking skills as well. It was a great day for all involved. Thank you again for your great support! God bless!

The cafeteria has new payment envelopes for the hot lunch program. The new envelopes are being sent home today. Please include all payments for your child/children's lunch accounts in these envelopes. When you need more envelopes please let your child's teacher know and they can send some home or stop into either office to get more.
JUMP WITH JOY,
Jeff

Lunch & Recess Volunteer Notice
| Hello ND Families,
First and foremost, a HUGE thank you for helping to volunteer for cafeteria and playground duty! We have had great feedback from parents saying they really enjoyed seeing their child(ren) in their element and the teachers are very appreciative to have some down time to prepare for their classes.
It is that time again where we need the help of each school family to select your day and time slot to volunteer for the second trimester. There are many openings and we need your help to fill the positions as early as NEXT WEEK! If you have not fulfilled your second trimester playground requirement already, you can sign up using the following link: Lunch & Recess Volunteer sign-up genius We are hoping to avoid having to assign families that have not signed up for the second trimester to random slots, so please sign up soon to help ensure you volunteer on a date and time that work best for you!
You may also sign up for the third trimester now if it helps your planning, or you can wait for the reminder that will be sent out a few weeks before the last trimester begins. Notre Dame is asking for each family to volunteer for one slot per trimester, or more if you wish!
Please keep in mind that your time spent volunteering for this program is worth double towards your required family volunteer hours.
***Cancelations 48 hours before the day of your shift can be directed to the secretaries of the appropriate schools as the teachers/aides will need to fill in.
Thank you for helping to keep out children well supervised and safe! |

Catholic Schools Week (CSW) is almost here. On Sunday, Jan. 27th, all Notre Dame families are invited to kick off this amazing week by attending the 9:00 a.m. Holy Mass at St. Francis Xavier of De Pere and afterwards join for fellowship at the Elementary building between 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for the Open House and Complimentary Breakfast. For the Mass we are encouraging all to actively take a role such as singing in the choir, reading as a lector or assisting as a minister of hospitality. Go to January 27, 2013 Holy Mass sign-up genius

Celebrate Life: Project ADAM
| Attached is the flyer for the fundraiser at the end of the month. It has become quite a big event, with representatives from Children's Hospital of Milwaukee, Project Adam, Green Bay Metro Fire Department, and Green Bay Packers, all committed to attending. We have also just learned that a local news anchor will be our MC for the event.
The purpose of the event is to pay tribute to those who helped save Morgan's life one year ago today, and to raise as much money as possible for Project Adam so they can continue providing grants to schools, like the one they have given to Notre Dame. We will be raising money through various activities, including a 50/50, silent auction and live auction. The event is very family friendly, with several events specifically designed for children, including an arts & crafts table where they will be making and decorating hearts. :)
