Ms. Smits 6th Grade

Welcome to Ms. Smits 6th Grade Middle School Social Studies Class!

Dear Notre Dame Families:

The first trimester ends this Friday.  Report cards will be sent home with your child the following Friday (December 7th). Everyone begins with a fresh slate on Monday.

Also, next week Friday Notre Dame will be hosting an international day.  Parents and family members are welcome!!! Please see the flyer below.

Reconciliation begins next week.  The reconciliation schedule is as follows:  5th and 6th grades on  December 6th, 7th and 8th grades on December 14th,  3rd and 4th grades on December 20th.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the annual Seroogy candy sale.  A special thank you to Michelle Gregory and Tracy VanDeYacht for organizing the Seroogy's fundraiser. Over $3,000 was raised which easily surpassed last year's total! Funds will be used for the Home and School budget.  Merry Christmas!

Just a reminder...
Starting with the first snowfall, children grades Pre-K-5 are required to wear snow pants, boots, hats, and mittens whenever snow is on the ground. Middle school students must wear coats, hats and mittens.  Girls who wear skirts must wear leggings or pants when the weather is below freezing. Students will be kept indoors if it rains or if the temperature or wind chill is 10˚ below zero.

The 3rd Friday of each month is designated "spirit t-shirt day".  Wear your ND "Jump with Joy" spirit shirt on December 21st!  Spirit shirts are available to be purchased/ordered in the middle school and elementary school offices.

JUMP WITH JOY,

Jeff

Notre Dame of De Pere's 1st Adopt-A-Family Christmas Program 2012!

This Christmas Season, Notre Dame of De Pere school has the opportunity to share its blessings with local families in need. The Christian Outreach Program has identified two De Pere families that are in need of extra support to make this Christmas Season special.

The first family consists of 5 people ~ boy (3), girl (4), boy (8), boy (10) and mom. The mom recently lost her job and is working on re-employment. The second family consists of 3 people: girl (4), mom and dad. They both have provided a wish list of gift suggestions and household needs. We will also try to provide grocery gift cards to be used to purchase a Christmas meal, as well as gas gift cards, hygiene products and cleaning supplies. Gifts not on the list are welcome as well! Items do not need to be wrapped, but we will be asking for volunteers to help in putting everything together and wrapping the gifts prior to dropping them off. Please click on the Sign Up Genius link below to view the wish list items. Gifts can be sent to school at any point prior to Dec 14th as this will ensure everything is wrapped and delivered to the family on time. It is also an option to participate in this event by sending a monetary donation or any additional gift cards not listed, which would be extremly helpful and greatly appreciated.  We would use any monetary donations to purchase wishlist items that are not covered as well as purchase additional cards for the family. Please send all monetary or gift card donations to school in an envelope labeled 'Adopt a Family.'

Please do not feel any pressure to assist with this program as there are many things going on / causes to support during the holiday season. Notre Dame of De Pere is such a giving community and we wanted to provide an opportunity for those that are looking to take part in a program to help those in need this Christmas Season!
