Greetings!

This Conference is Happening!

In response to some inquiries we've received this week, we want to assure everyone that this event is definitely happening and we have a great program in store for you.

While we have had to revise our program to adjust to the federal shutdown impacts, we are excited about the agenda and the activities for the week.   We have developed some exciting ideas to further the goals of creating discussion among managers and scientists.  We have a great line up of speakers, and we've added extra time for large group discussions and social networking.  The Field Trip on Thursday will proceed as planned, and the Shortleaf Pine Initiative Workshop on Friday will also be held as planned.

An exciting addition to our program is a Strolling Reception to be held Wednesday evening, sponsored by the Fire Learning Network.  This event will have great food, a cash bar, and lots of opportunities to mingle with new friends and old.  At this time this event will be open to all and we'll ask for a donation at the door.  You do not need to be a currently registered attendee to join us!  Even if you are unable to attend the rest of the conference, we invite you to join us for this informal evening of socializing, networking, and sharing of ideas.

This is going to be a great conference and we are looking forward to seeing you in Roanoke!

If you are not able to attend this conference, please email us asap to cancel your registration.  We are unable to issue any refunds (including registration fees, banquet costs, or field trip costs).

There is still a plan to publish proceedings of all of the invited speakers' talks, whether or not they are able to present them at the conference.

Please direct all correspondence to office@fireecology.net
