That was one conclusion of "Mycotoxins: Triple Threat to African Development," a day-long event that drew leading experts in food security from USAID, USDA, FDA, the World Bank, academia and the private sector.

Is There a Link Between Autism and Early Childhood Vaccines?
Despite numerous scientific studies showing no connection between childhood vaccines and autism, nearly one third of parents refuse or delay having their children immunized against vaccine-preventable diseases. Now a new study conducted by Abt Associates and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention adds to this body of evidence, concluding that there is no link between the risk of autism and the number of vaccines a child receives on a single day or cumulatively within the first two years of life.

| Scott Royal, Ph.D., has been named President and CEO of Abt SRBI, the survey research and data collection arm of Abt. Royal, who assumed his new role at Abt SRBI on April 1, held the position of division vice president for U.S. Health at Abt Associates since 2008.
| James Gribble, an expert in monitoring and evaluation, has joined Abt Associates as Senior M&E Strategy and Business Development Lead to oversee the International Health Division's evaluation practice.
