Courtney's start was untraditional. She began eventing because of her love of the sport; she rode and competed while also graduating from Rice University and building a successful business in the insurance industry, where she received top honors. But she realized her passion for the sport and her desire to compete at the highest levels could not be ignored. Courtney chose to sell her insurance business and focus all of her attention to riding, competing, breeding, and being successful in the horse industry. Owning your own business is always a challenge, but she has forged ahead, with the help of some key individuals, and her business has thrived! Now that she has established herself, she has turned her sights to representing her country on international teams, and she wants to take you with her.

In an effort to make the costs of joining the team as affordable as possible, we are keeping the one-time share purchase price at $2,000. You are not limited to the number of shares you can buy and, if desired, you can also split a share with a family member or friend. Courtney is ranked 28th Overall in U.S. rider standings for 2013.
In 2013 alone, Courtney was placed 3rd in the Jersey Fresh International CCI*** with her Advanced-level homebred, Who's a Star, and won the Plantation Field Horse Trials CIC*, in a field of 56 riders, with her talented homebred mare R Star. Courtney has, in addition, numerous top finishes at the Preliminary, Intermediate, and Advanced levels.
Courtney has a wealth of knowledge, both in the saddle and at competitions, coupled with strong horsemanship and an unmatched competitive desire. With a program that starts from foaling and goes through Advanced-level competitions, there is something for everyone. Courtney has the drive and ambition to be a top rider in both the United States and the world, and she is looking to build a team whose drive matches her own.

Some things you
may not have known
about Courtney:
Early in her career, Courtney trained with top instructors and competitors, including: Martha Anne Shires (member of the World Championship Canadian Team in 1978); Michael Page, an Olympic Bronze Medalist; two-time World Champion Bruce Davidson; and Lois Lann, the early trainer of Sassy Reason (the first American horse to win the prestigious Burghley Horse Trials in England).
She is a graduate of Rice University in Houston, Texas. After graduating, she supported herself by building an insurance business with Northwestern Mutual. While working in this business, she achieved Million Dollar Round Table status, and received the Charter Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant professional designations.
Since moving to Pennsylvania in 1996, she has worked closely with top international trainers, including Jim Wofford, Phillip Dutton, Belinda Narin Wertman, Sally Cousins, Chris Hickey, Mara DePuy, and Jan Byyny.
In addition to actively riding and competing, she teaches and coaches a number of students and has carved out a niche for herself in the industry with her successful sales business, where she specializes in making strong matches between horse and rider.

Meet Dare to Dream's
Sport, the first of hopefully many successful
Dare to Dream horses, joined the C Square Farm Event Team in 2012, and we are excited with his progress so far. He continues to gain experience as he works his way up the levels of eventing. We are looking forward to seeing what the 2014 competition season brings for him and Courtney.
