PSOD Autumn Newsletter
Greetings!

Welcome!

There is so much excitement at the studio as we prepare for all the events coming our way.  Exam preparations are underway, competition dances have been started and believe it or not, we are getting our year-end production planned.

Don't forget about signing up for our November event, "Pilates class for Dancers" on Sunday, November 14th!  We are so lucky to have Miss Jennifer Basa on staff this year and she is excited to share her knowledge with us!  Come on out dancers!  I'm sure you will benefit from this excellent strength and stretch program.

We have three new members on our faculty this year and we would like to introduce them to you.    We will feature each of our new teachers throughout the year.  Take a moment to read about them and make sure you give them a warm Panorama welcome.

For those of you new to our Panorama dance family, I would like to personally take this opportunity to welcome you.  We are so happy you have made the decision to bring your child to our studio.  We trust that you are already enjoying your time with us.  Please be sure to let us know if you have any questions throughout the year.

Jen Basa

Jennifer's life-long love affair with dance began at the age of four when she felt her ballet teacher's pointe shoe for the first time. For the next 12 years she competed throughout BC in modern, lyrical, tap, jazz, stage and studied RAD ballet for over 10 years. After graduating from high school, she decided to explore her other creative side, acting & theatre, and appeared in various commercials throughout Canada and the US. After traveling abroad, Jennifer returned to Vancouver and received her diploma in business marketing from BCIT and eventually returned to her first love, ballet, to complete her Certificate In Ballet Teaching Studies with the Royal Academy of Dance. She has trained up to Advanced 2 level and received distinction on her Advanced 1 Ballet exam.

With a strong desire to better understand the body and how it can be conditioned for ballet, Jennifer began practicing Pilates and has since become a Certified Pilates instructor throughout Vancouver. She trained under Marta Hernandez with the PhysicalMind Institute of Canada as well as Emmie Li to receive her Pilates Certification. Jennifer teaches Pilates to all ages and disciplines including students at various dance schools. She is also an instructor with Canada's very first "barre style" workout, The Dailey Method, which combines the disciplines of ballet barre work, yoga and pilates. Her passion always remains in Ballet with the goal of developing her students into strong, balanced dancers.

We have changed our calendar slightly for this year.  Please download our new Calendar from our website www.panoramadance.com "Year At a Glance" on our home page.

Hopefully you will take time to introduce yourselves to our new faculty and join me in welcoming them to our Panorama dance family.  We are thrilled you have joined us and we look forward to what you have to share with all our dancers!

Sincerely,

Lisa Brandt
