Created Equal: Freedom Riders
For the second film of our four part series, Created Equal: America's Civil Rights Struggle, the Library will screen the award winning PBS documentary Freedom Riders. Freedom Riders offers an inside look at a pivotal moment in the Civil Rights struggle, when a brave band of activists challenged segregation in the Deep South. The film will be introduced by Dr. Clement Price of
Rutgers University. Dr. Price will lead a discussion with the community after the screening.
Created Equal: America's Civil Rights Struggle is made possible through a major grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, as part of its Bridging Cultures initiative, in partnership with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History. Yoga for Beginners

Bring your own yoga mat for this class featuring simple yoga postures. Participants will be asked to sign a waiver at the beginning of class.

Post-It Poetry Grades 6-12, Month of April Check out our interactive Post-it Poetry Display for National Poetry Month. All you need to do is write a poem on a post-it, stick it on our display, and check back to see what others have written!
Teen Tech Club Grades 6-12 Wednesday, April 2, 7-8 pm A great club for teens who want to learn to create fun and unique projects using a computer. The first round of topics includes: extreme online searching, advanced techniques using power point and basic HTML. Registration is required due to limited space. Tween Tech Club Ages 8-12 Fridays, April 4, 11, & 25 from 4-5pm Want to learn how to make animations, edit photos, create web comics, and other fun programs? Sign up now! This program will run for Fridays from now (excluding April 18th) until the end of May. Crafty Tweens Ages 8-12 Thursday, April 3 from 4-5pm Love crafts? So does our new Youth Services Librarian! Learn to create fun and inexpensive crafts using various household items, easily found and recycled materials. For the month of April we will be going green and creating baskets using recycled magazines or newspapers! No registration is required.

This event is sponsored and hosted by Time Warp Comics. Prizes are available! Check it out Mate - ChessClub for kids Thursdays starting April 17 at 4pm, grades 2-8 Chess club is back with chess master Eric Greenebaum. Kids will learn rules and strategies during this excellent game of critical thinking. Downtime with Disney Saturday, April 19 from 2-4pm, all ages Come hang out at the library on the 3rd Saturday of the month for a special viewing of popular Disney films! Story time presented by Liberty Middle School Wednesday, April 23 from 4:30pm-5:30 pm, all ages Into the Woods, Jr.'s cast of characters will read favorite Fairy Tales and present selections from the Musical. Kids will meet Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood and Jack and the Beanstalk. Music and Movement and for Children with Special Needs Monday, April 28 from 4:30pm-5:30 pm, ages 4-10 Funded by a grant for children with special needs, children are once again invited to participate in this 2 week program series led by certified and experience music educator, therapist and special needs yoga instructor, Ms. Joanne Schlachter.
