June Programs for Adults:

Book Discussion Group

Monday, June 3 at 1:30pm

Mary-Jean Gurzenda leads the discussion of The Paris Wife.

The book is a fictionalized account of Ernest Hemingway's first marriage.

E-Mail Basics

Tuesday, June 4 at 10am

Set up an email account and learn how to send and receive messages. Participants must have experience using a mouse and keyboard.

Pre-registration is required. Sign up online or by calling the Library.

Small Business Check-up

Thursday, June 6 at 7pm

Learn how to use an income statement and balance sheet to assess the health of your business. A representative from the Service Corps of Retired Executives (S.C.O.R.E.) will lead the group in a case study. Please bring a calculator. Advance registration is recommended.

Creative Connection

Wednesday, June 12 at 7:15pm

Express your creativity and receive constructive feedback on your project.

The group will discuss challenges facing artists.

Presented in partnership with the WO Arts Council.

West Orange Writers' Group

Thursday, June 13 at 7pm

Meet other writers in our informal forum. The group is open to anyone interested in any kind of writing. For a gentle critique, bring a sample of your work to share.

Homework: A Parent's Survival Guide

Thursday, June 20 at 7pm

Educators from Huntington Learning Center will discuss the 7 biggest homework challenges and how to deal with them. Advance registration is recommended.

Poetry Workshop

Saturday, June 22 at 9:30-11am

Poet Peggy Vassallo facilitates a workshop to get your creative ideas flowing. Please bring paper and pencil. If you have a poem to share with the group, bring ten copies.

Children's Programs

Stupendous Sports for Children with Special Needs

Monday, June 3 at 4:30pm

Children with special needs will have fun learning sports basics and good sportsmanship with certified special education teacher Michael Gagliano.

Wonderworks: Science Activities for Children with Special Needs

Monday, June 10 at 4:30

Children with special needs will learn fun science concepts and conduct some safe experiments with Rachel Lipstein of The Children's Institute.

Fun Galore for Children with Special Needs

Monday, June 17 at4:30pm

Children with special needs will build their social interaction skills in a structured playtime. This is the final program in our series for children with special needs. Light refreshments will be served to the children.

Outdoor Children's Concert Kicks off Summer Reading

Wednesday, July 26 at 7pm

Kids - If you've signed up for the "Dig into Reading" Summer Reading Club, you'll want to be sure to sign up for this event that kicks off our summer programming.

Our family-friendly concert featuring the band "Starfish" takes place on the Library lawn. Sign up online.
