TNCore Training Registration Launch

Registration for the School Team Training Series is now live here. As a reminder, registration for Direct Teacher Training Offerings will be live on Thursday, April 10 at 4 p.m. CDT. Additional information about the trainings can be found here.

 Re-Opening of MIST Literacy Portal

The MIST Literacy Portal has been re-opened and is now available for all districts and schools to access here. For more information about the Literacy Portal, click here. The portal will contain new, Common Core-aligned writing assessment tasks in ELA and literacy as well as the Phase I writing assessment tasks released last fall. PDF versions of the Phase I and Phase III writing tasks are also available  here. We encourage districts, schools and teachers to consider using these items in the final months of school.

Teachers can enter scores based on the revised 2013-14 Writing Assessment rubrics. Scoring materials for the optional writing tasks for both Phase I and Phase III are now available  here. Scoring materials include the following for each prompt: revised rubrics, anchor papers for each trait with annotated student work, and one training set for additional scoring practice.

A separate communication was sent to system testing coordinators with details on providing login information. All teachers now have access to the portal and should direct any questions about login information to their building or system testing coordinator.

Take Survey on Math Instruction: Earn Cash

Teachers, weigh-in on math instruction in the middle grades and earn a $40 stipend. The University of Pittsburgh is partnering with the department to recruit fourth through eighth-grade Tennessee math teachers to participate in a study to generate best practices for math instruction in the middle grades. Research teams are looking for educators to complete an online survey. Find out how to participate here.
