A video outlining information about Tennessee's 2013-14 Common Core State Standards Implementation Plan is now available at www.tncore.org. This video is based on information that has already been shared through Directors Updates and TNCore Updates in written form. Featuring several senior leaders at the Tennessee Department of Education, this video (25 minutes long) can be used in staff meetings in your districts and schools to present consistent information about the assessment, materials, training and leadership support offerings in the final year prior to PARCC. The social studies draft standards will be posted for public review between April 2 and April 26, 2013 at http://www.tn.gov/education/curriculum.shtml. Over the past two months, the Social Studies Leadership Council has compiled these draft standards after receiving feedback and insight from educators in Tennessee and reviewing national exemplars in social studies education. Feedback from educators has been and will continue to be a vital part of the process of revising the social studies standards. Please take time to review the draft standards for any grade and/or course and submit feedback using this survey between April 2 and April 26, 2013.
