Dear KJZZ Listeners,
 | Dr. Jim Paluzzi |
This year will end soon, but the issues that we all face in this increasingly complex world are endless. Around the world - and across the street - the need to make sense out of complexity provides plenty of fuel for the KJZZ newsroom, and I'm happy to report that, thanks to you, we're better prepared than ever!
Locally, we've invested in building our newsroom's capacity to find hidden stories in science, technology, health, innovation, and business. KJZZ has also maintained its strong commitment to supporting Fronteras: our Changing America Desk, which continues to find stories that help us better understand what life is like on both sides of the border.
KJZZ's election coverage this year was first rate, and it marks a new initiative to strengthen our ability to cover breaking news, wherever it happens. In the twenty-first century, the real action will be found not in our studios - and not in our newsroom, either - but rather in the communities that we serve. That's why we are continuing our investment in remote broadcast technology to cover the news ... as it happens. Your support makes this possible, and it is greatly appreciated.
Last, but not least, our partnerships with the BBC and NPR make us strong. KJZZ now has a direct partner relationship with the BBC, which gives us direct access to the BBC's international reporters that few other stations enjoy. With NPR, our reporters are regular contributors to the national program service. In turn, NPR continues to provide our listeners with news you can't hear anywhere else, this partnership will grow stronger in the year ahead. I know you will hear the difference.
Thank you for a great 2014. Here's to even better coverage in 2015!
Sincerely,
Dr. Jim Paluzzi
KJZZ General Manager
Vice President Division of Public Service

It is one of the best names for a program. It is KJZZ's All Things Considered for your drive home. Since its debut in 1971, this afternoon newsmagazine has delivered in-depth reporting and transformed the way we understand current events and view the world. KJZZ's Steve Goldstein is joined by Melissa Block, Robert Siegel, and Audie Cornish for a mix of breaking news, interviews, and special -- sometimes quirky -- features. For example, here's a story on going viral. It is no longer just for videos and memes. Or how about this story on developing jetpack technology from the KJZZ newsroom Throughout the day, KJZZ keeps you up to date but what does the news mean. We take the time to provide analysis and impact of the day's news to help you clearly understand what is happening in Phoenix, across Arizona and around the world. It's All Things Considered on KJZZ. It's on the radio every weekday from 3pm to 6pm and it's always online at kjzz.org.
