Eisner Prize Deadline Extended

If you haven't submitted your nomination for the 2013 Eisner Prize, you should get moving! The Eisner Foundation will award $150,000 cash to one organization for intergenerational excellence. In addition, the foundation will award $10,000 each to the five finalists. Spread the word! Tell your colleagues and friends. But most of all: SEND IN YOUR NOMINATION! Deadline: July 15, 2013. Join the Rally4Babies on July 8

Rally4Babies: Learning Happens from the Start is a national virtual baby rally that will mobilize people across the country to contact policymakers and demand that early learning investments begin with babies and toddlers. The rally is being held in conjunction with the Strong Start for Children coalition in an effort to get people talking about the importance of early learning birth to five. 2013 Kids Count Data Book Released
The Annie E. Casey Foundation's 2013 KIDS COUNT Data Book finds that children in the United States continue to make gains in the areas of education and health despite a growing poverty rate. Adding to the ongoing national conversation on early childhood education, the latest Data Book offers expanded coverage of America's youngest children. Learn more.

Key Is New COO for National Assembly

Hats off to Karen Heller Key who was recently named executive vice president & COO for the National Human Services Assembly. Key has served the Assembly for six years. Prior to that, she held significant positions at AARP, United Way, and American Red Cross.

Capital Grants. The Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation is offering capital grants for qualified organizations that provide services in: Older Adults; Workforce Development; Basic Human Needs and Health; Disabilities, Education, Children, Youth and Families; and General Community Support. Peter F. Drucker Award for Nonprofit Innovation. The Drucker Institute. Seeks nonprofit organizations that best demonstrate Druckerʼs definition of innovation: "change that creates a new dimension of performance." First-place prize of $100,000. Deadline: 3:00pm PT on July 1, 2013. Learn more.


Investing in Innovation. Department of Education. Seeks proposals that

Grief Reach Grant Program. National Alliance for Grieving Children and New York Life Foundation. Seeks applications from Children's Bereavement Programs to expand their reach to include under-served youth populations (18 and under). Deadline: July 8, 2013. Learn more.


Tom's of Maine 50 States for Good. Tom's of Maine. Supports grassroots organizations throughout the country working to do good in their communities. Fifteen grants of $10,000 each will be awarded to nonprofit organizations that address healthy, human, or environmental goodness. Deadline: July 8, 2013. Learn more.   


RSVP 2014 Notice of Funding Opportunity. Corporation for National and Community Service. Offers more than $14 million in total funding to organizations that will sponsor Retired Senior Volunteer Programs (RSVP). Letter of Inquiry due: Aug. 9, 2013. Learn more.   


Community-Based Grant Program. Union Pacific Foundation. Helps nonprofit organizations in the Midwest and West build capacity, increase impact, and operate more effectively. Deadline: Aug. 14, 2013. (Early submissions are encouraged.) Learn more.
