July 2014

President's Message

Hard as it is to believe, the BIA Board received the mid-year report at this week's Board meeting. The year is speeding by, and I am happy to report the Association is experiencing a very strong start to 2014. Event attendance is up at all events, non-dues revenue is up, and we have increased membership by 12%. The Strategic Plan established by the Board in January is moving forward and we have made great strides in all categories, including: branding, membership expansion, financial sustainability and creating legislative coalitions with other groups.

Last evening at the President's Party we celebrated the industry, the progress of the Chapter and invited Candidate Bobby Shriver to speak to the group about his candidacy for the LA County Third District Board of Supervisors seat.  I want to thank everyone for their attendance and support of the event, making it a fun and worthwhile gathering.  I also want to give a special Thank You to our event sponsors Centennial Founders, Guild Mortgage, and to our Residential Energy Efficiency Sponsors Southern California Edison and The Gas Company.  My hat is off you as your participation helped to create the event's success.

If you have not experienced the networking occurring at our events, I encourage you to participate in one of our upcoming activities. We will host the Bowling Bash August 21st, a Trap Shoot September 16th and a second golf tournament October 13th. Also, be sure to save the date of October 30th for our Awards & Installation Dinner.  I invite you to experience the renewed LAV Chapter, to see what the buzz is really all about.

Sincerely,

Membership Benefits

Did You Know That...

Today, your membership is more powerful than ever!  BIA of Southern California has a One Association, One Membership structure. This means that members who join BIASC have member access to ALL FOUR BIA Chapters - Baldy View, LA/Ventura, Orange County and Riverside. Members can participate in every chapter's events, committees and boards without any supplemental dues.  So, you have the opportunity to access services throughout the region, wherever your business plan takes you. Remember, your BIASC membership is a company membership, so every employee of your company is a member.
Included with this membership program is that you are able to select which chapter or chapters you want to follow. Just go to BIASC's MEMBERS ONLY section and log in using your user name and password located in the top right corner of your semi-monthly event calendar email.  Select MY PROFILE, then ADDITIONAL INFORMATION, and select one or all of the chapters. For assistance or more information, please contact Anne O'Shea-Greenfield.

Are You Using the Member Directory?
As a BIASC member you are eligible to obtain a list of all members. What better way to do business with other members? To get the list just go to www.biasc.org click on the orange Member Log In button, enter your username and password where prompted, and then click on Member Directory.  You can choose to view members alphabetically or use the Advanced Search feature and search by company name or type of business. For questions, log in information or assistance, contact Kevin Ward.
