Time Flies When You Are Having Fun

It is hard to believe that I will have been here at the Chamber for nine months July 1, 2015.  We have accomplished so much during that time, but have so much left to do.  Just like our membership, every day is busy, the demands are never ending, and it is difficult to stay ahead of the game, let alone catch up.  While it can be frustrating at time, I am not sure I would want it any other way.

In January, during our annual meeting, we discussed and brought forward our mission, vision values and goals for the Chamber in 2015 and beyond.  We need to take a moment from time to time to look at those driving principal, to make sure we are on task, focused on our mission and members, and to make sure we are leading in the creation, promotion and enhancement of a healthy business environment for the Northfield area.

We must always keep in focus that we are a membership organization, an organization dedicated to serving our members and acting and speaking out on their behalf.  Trust me, there are many, many group that are out looking for their group's special interests.  The Chamber fills that role for the business community in Northfield and the surrounding area.  That is why involvement is so important, why membership is critical, and why your input and participation in activities and events makes us a strong organization.

In 2015 the board developed a set of values that the organization was to live by.  Member Focus (Value), Respectability, Collaboration, Leadership, Volunteerism, Fun.  How is the organization doing so far this year?  Are we on the right path?  Do we walk the walk, talk the talk?  Drop us a line, give us a call, write us a note and let us know if we are doing the things you want done.  Only thru your active participation can be become and stay a strong organization.

Thank you for your support, your financial contribution, your volunteer time and talents.  I am excited to work with each and every one of you to make the Northfield Area Chamber THE strongest, most respected, most active Chamber in the state.

Chamber Announces New Director of Membership
The Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism announced that they have hired Lindsay Reddy as the Northfield Chamber of Commerce Director of Member Services. Reddy joins the Northfield Area Chamber, replacing Jane Pausch who resigned the position in early May to move to northern Wisconsin.

A resident of Northfield, Reddy has previous Chamber experience, serving as an intern and the Communications Specialist for the Dakota County Region Chamber of Commerce.  In addition, Reddy has been a small business owner, purchasing a Jack of All Trades Handyman franchise, which she owned over two years before selling the business.

Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce President Todd Bornhauser said, "I am so excited to have Lindsay join our team here in Northfield.  Her previous experiences both as a small business owner as well as working at a chamber will help enhance the organization and provide valuable resources for our members."

Chamber Board Chair Beth Ayotte Naumann was extremely impressed with Reddy's outgoing personality.  "Lindsay will bring a lot of energy to the organization, and her personality will get members excited and motivated," stated Naumann.

Reddy said she was excited to get back involved with the Chamber and community.  "The Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce was on my short list, and I was excited when the opportunity became available.  I enjoy working with and helping businesses and Northfield is such a great community.  The position was perfect for me.  I am really looking forward to contributing to the Northfield Chamber and forming it into the best in Minnesota" commented Reddy.  "I found the Chamber an invaluable part of running my business, and I want to make sure our members see the value of their membership feel that same way" stated Reddy.

The Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce is a dynamic business organization that promotes the Northfield area and the local business community.  The Chamber is comprised of local business and business-minded individuals who have banded together with one goal in mind:  to advance the commercial, financial, industrial and civic interests of the community.
