Educating Parents about Kids' Vision

 The second back-to-school season is upon us. As an ECP, you can help parents understand the impact vision has on their children's academic success. Halfway through the school year, makes it an ideal time for parents to schedule an eye exam for their children if they're showing any signs of struggling.
Facts about vision and learning:
- Most learning disabilities are due to undetected vision problems.
- 80% of learning is dependent upon vision.
- 1 in 4 children have undiagnosed eye problems that interfere with learning.
The next time a parent comes in for his or her eye exam, you may want to ask "How is your child doing in school?" If he or she reports any challenges, a vision problem may be the root cause. You'll want to share the above facts and suggest they make an appointment for their child with your office. As an ECP, you are uniquely qualified to help children reach their full potential!

Eyewear designers are adding spice to a traditional pattern. What typically shows in hues of brown, tortoise is turning up the heat by infusing more color.  The image on the right provides two great examples of this trend (both from our Modz Collection). Auburn (top) features a royal blue tortoise that's unquestionably urban chic. Sparta (bottom), while more subdued, also boasts street style where deep burgundy complements a rich brown tortoise. Havoc (shown below) is yet another example.The tortoise trend has never looked so "Modern"!
