Engaging your patient community through regular posts (shared or original) is a very cost-effective way to get the word out about your practice. ECPs rely on Modern Optical 's Facebook page for quality content when posting on their own social media platforms. Many practices share our high-quality lifestyle and frame images to communicate today's eyewear fashions. Optical humor, industry news and inspirational quotes are also posted to further engage and entertain followers.

Join our conversation today by "Liking" Modern Optical International on Facebook. By doing so you are automatically entered into a random drawing to win a $25 AMEX gift card. We will give away eight gift cards throughout the month of June.

Men's Eyewear Trends
Updated Twists to Classic Styles
Eyeglasses are often a man's primary, if not only, accessory. Nothing reflects his fashion sense more than his choice of eyewear. Lucky for him, the choices have never been more robust in terms of the colors, shapes and designs available. When it comes to what's trending in today's frames, we see four main themes emerging:
Lightweight Materials - No fuss for an on-the-go lifestyle means lightweight comfort. Materials such as titanium and TR90 make wear-all-day frames a possibility without sacrificing durability.
Larger Silhouettes - A higher B measurement not only accommodates progressive lenses, it's also answers the rising demand by the younger generation.
Earth Tones - Classic deep colorations get an update with matte translucent finishes and subtle patterns.
BIG Guy Options  - Big men deserve to feel good and look great in their eyewear, too. Offering trendy styles with proper fit will set your practice apart.

Chicago Students See with Style
Vision Program Promotes Learning
Few things are more gratifying than to watch a child put on a pair of glasses for the first time. Wonder and amazement overtake their expressions followed by beautiful smiles. The American Academy of Ophthalmology estimates that 80 percent of all learning during a child's first 12 years takes place using one's vision. In addition, health industry statistics indicate that nearly one out of every four school-age children has vision deficiencies and many are misdiagnosed as having learning disabilities when, in fact, they simply have an undetected vision problem.
Last week, Ken Weissman, President of Modern Optical, and Rahm Emanuel, Mayor of Chicago, gathered with several organizations to mark the importance of vision care in Chicago Public Schools (CPS). The event was held at Haines Elementary School where the 50,000th student was outfitted with a new pair of glasses. Modern Optical is proud to partner with Classic Optical, Essilor Vision Foundation, and The Illinois College of Optometry to facilitate CPS's Vision ProgramFor this school year, CPS is on pace to provide 45,000 eye exams and dispense 27,800 pairs of eyeglasses to students as a result of this innovative program.
