Julie Gedro

Greetings, YTNR Community!

February feels like it was a blur, but in a good way. Nicholas and Leiko and I just got back from another trip to Saratoga, which is in a sense our home away from home. All three of us love to walk downtown and take in its beauty and charm. I had a wonderful dinner with colleagues on Thursday night and then co-instructed a workshop on Friday, on the subject of transitions. The workshop was focused on the work context, and I find that the principles that frame the content apply to virtually all aspects of life. Change and transitions are constant, and in today's world, due in large part to technology, change happens at an increasing rate. I tend to like change because I like variety. There are some changes that are totally painful, such as decline and death of loved ones. There are changes that are joyful, such as a new haircut or wardrobe. I have always preferred watching a sunrise to a sunset because I love the hopeful feeling I have when a new day begins.

As we begin a new month, and head toward changes such as the increased length of daylight, I send our community positive thoughts for hopefulness and happiness.

Blessings,
Julie, Nicholas and Leiko

Mary-Margaret O'Brien ~ Dear Diary....

Wow.  Exciting times.  We had a really big storm a couple of weeks ago and it totally blew the fence down.  Not a big deal since me and Lexi and LuLu were already friends, and now we get to spend even more face time together.
A few days later I went out to take care of my "morning business" when my neighbors snuck up behind me and said "WOOF WOOF".  OMG,  I wasn't expecting that and I ran back in the house without finishing my stuff.  The next day I was prepared.   When they came over I stood my ground, said "woof woof" and I chased them back into their yard.  Who's boss now, I ask?

Mom and the owner of the house have been getting estimates to fix it.  It's going to cost about $3,000.00 but Mom and Mario will split it so it's not horrible.  They have decided on tan vinyl and they are waiting for the Homeowner's Association Architectural committee to approve their plan.  Meanwhile, Mario put up chicken wire so that me and my friends can visit but we can't go into each other's back yards.

Next week I have an appointment to get my hair done with a new groomer.  My old groomer for the past nine years has been sick and doesn't think she'll work again.  I'm sad about that because I loved my Miss Marilyn.  Miss Donna does some pups that belong to a friend of ours and they speak very highly of her  I'm getting a "puppy cut" with a bow.  Can't wait.

Love and schlurps....

Mary-Margaret

In Loving Memory

Heaven has a new little angel - a round little bundle of joy, with big soulful eyes. Tuffy, with your happy heart of gold,  and sweet personality to match, you wiggled your way into every heart you met. You melted ours every time you held out your little chin to be scratched, when you snuggled up close, when you ran little circles, and fought your way through so many hardships.

We love you and miss you at the office and at home. Thank you for sharing your life with us.

Run free our tough little man. You're in our hearts forever.

Love you always,
mommy and daddy, and all your doggie brothers and sisters.

Rest in peace little Bailey! You will be missed big time!Love you!

Important information!
According to the North American Mycological Association (NAMA), dogs tend to gravitate to two deadly mushroom species: Amanita phalloides and Inocybe. Both varieties have a fishy odor, which may be the attraction.

Messages from our Happy readers

"Hi
Thank you for the newsletter.
We recently adopted / rescued a 4 pd,  7 yr old Yorkie from Thistle Hill Rescue.  She flew up (Delta) from Missouri Dec 11.   Very fragile. She is now a $2,000 dog.  She spends a lot of time on John's lap as she learns what love is.  You might think that he spent the last 10 years looking for a little dog. She has so much to learn.  I chose the name 5 years ago to help carry on my family name : WALLACE RAINBOW WHO : WRW :  as in Who Rescued Who.   We have already discovered that we have a nursing home ministry. I just walk thru with Wallie in my arm and faces brighten up.

Again thank you.   You're the best."

"Another superb newsletter came on my computer this morning. Smoky's story was absolutely breathtaking and brought tears to my eyes. Just to imagine he was found in a foxhole left alone, found thankfully,  then adopted by a great furby lover to spend 14 or less years in all the little furby's pitter-patter walks of life giving of his precious heart to many. Thanks for including this beautiful story in our newsletter and pictures of award,  furby award recipient gentleman, gently holding the little one and all. Of course, there are MANY other great different important write-ups within, pictures and all I just love to  read every month.   As always, I will go back once again as I might miss some very rewarding detail (all are important) in this newsletter.  Thank you to all who were a part of this first newsletter of 2016."

Neeko's Joke ;o)

At an all-you-can-eat restaurant Josh came back to the table, his plate full for the fifth time. "Josh!" exclaimed his mother. "Doesn't it embarrass you that people have seen you go up to the buffet table five times?" "Not a bit," said Josh, "I just tell them I'm filling up the plate for you!" ~

Bro Ray LOVES celery and he didn't hesitate to help himself.
Please notice that Meee was not attacking the groceries like
my Sis Aida and Bro Ray. Those two have no manners whatsoever!

Love to all,
