Greetings!
In these early spring days of renewal, it's natural to celebrate the energy and gifts of our young people. And thanks to you, Episcopal Charities is helping our parishes do more than ever for the valuable and vulnerable youth in our communities. In this issue of our eNews, you'll read a few examples of the incredible work happening around our Diocese - and about the grants, professional development workshops, and volunteer opportunities that you've helped to make possible.
Thank you!
John Talty, President

An Appeal from Bishop Dietsche and Bishop Chilton
This year, nearly 5,000 children and teens will build friendships and broaden their horizons through youth programs supported by Episcopal Charities. Many of these programs enliven their communities with theater productions, school partnerships, choir recitals and even circus performances. Your bishops invite you to join them in supporting Episcopal Charities' youth programs. 100% of your gift will be used to directly fund programs that brighten futures and strengthen communities. Please give as generously as possible.

Coming Home after Hurricane Sandy
Last fall, we visited the home of Cecelia Hernandez. At the time, it was damaged and unliveable due to Sandy. Today, Cecelia's home is one of more than 40 homes restored by the coordinated efforts of Episcopal churches on Staten Island and volunteers from across the nation - made possible in part thanks to your support through Episcopal Charities. This month, Cecelia moved home - and you can watch the coverage on NY1 News by clicking the image above!

$280K in Grants Awarded to Youth Programs
Episcopal Charities is proud to announce that we've awarded Youth Opportunity grants to 39 programs, totaling $280,000, a 5% increase from last year's grant. Thanks to YOUR support, these grants are helping our parishes do more than ever to transform the lives of our young people. That means more children flourishing, learning, and making lifelong connections in our parishes' summer camps, arts programs, and academic enrichment programs.

It runs Monday through Friday from 3-5:30pm. The directors prefer that volunteers serve two days a week, but they can accommodate other schedules.
