Generation Z's know no world without smartphonesl  Some quick facts I've learned through an article by  Aliah D. Wright are that they tend  to use their phones for most everything related to communicating but less likely to use them while actually working, unlike MIllenials. Further, they
are less concerned than other generations about privacy when using technology. I thought I would begin sharing some insights into this generation because I know there are many companies struggling to reach them to fill their job openings!
While such Generation Z's tend to use their phones during most everything like, church services, their weddings and of course social situations, they are less likely to use them for personal use or socially, during work hours.  This generation goes to their phone to learn, research and communicate so they will expect the ability to utilize their phones for work related activities such as workplace training, communication and team building/engagement strategies.   Keeping up with utilization of technology for employers will be more important than ever before!
Consider this when you are trying to hire such an age group.  They don't use email, don't consider Facebook a first option, forget voice mails as an option to effectively reach them as well.  You will need to reach out to them through the preferred social media networks, Vine, Instagram and Twitter for starters. This is where they will be seeking your "job open notices".  Keep in mind that this generation will make assumptions about your company if you are not up to date on social media practices and focusing on technology, preferable mobile methods to communicate, in order to relate to them and effectively reach them!
Finally this generation prefers image and video communication, less text.  Take note of your hiring practices and begin to develop strategies to make changes and soon!  Also consider your training methods as well.  This is one reason JBM focuses so much on live webinar training as well as the education video series.  Not only does this generation prefer this method, but so many others as well!
