If this is your first copy of the Charger Chatter, welcome! The Cherry Crest PTSA "Charger Chatter" e-newsletter is produced weekly during the school year.
Look to the Chatter for news about PTSA-sponsored activities for students such as Curriculum Enhancement and for announcements of school events such as the Walkathon, Family Nights and the PTSA Fundraisers.
You can also find links to Bellevue School District information, news from our librarian, nurse and school principal, as well as, information about after-school enrichment opportunities, athletic activities and community clubs. Read on for information about activities at Cherry Crest and community events happening in Bellevue this summer.

Thank You for Supporting
Curriculum Enhancement!
Thank you for your support of another fantastic year for Curriculum Enhancement! Thank you to the teachers, volunteers and staff for helping us incorporate over 50 activities to enhance learning for our children throughout the school year. Take a look at the amazing list of activities our children experienced during the 2015-2016 school year. All activities were funded by the PTSA through generous donations raised at this year's Walkathon, Gala, and Art Auction. Finally, a huge THANK YOU to our awesome Curriculum Enhancement Coordinators; without them, the visiting authors, museum tours, science workshops, harbor boat rides and animal encounters would never happen. They work tirelessly to get the events scheduled, rooms booked, volunteers coordinated, materials/equipment/logistics worked out ahead of time and play the role of activity director for every event so that our teachers can focus on the children and their experiences.

Cherry Crest is an amazing Comm(UNITY) thanks to the many people who step up to plan events, lead activities and fundraise for Cherry Crest.

PTSA Executive Committee Positions for 2016-2017
The Cherry Crest PTSA would like to recognize those who have agreed to serve in our open CC PTSA Executive Committee positions. At our general PTSA membership meeting on Thursday, June 9th, the presidents appointed:
Co-president: Catherine Schifano Vice-President: Erin Miller Assistant Treasurer: Maggie Lo
At our first general PTSA membership meeting in the fall, we will elect members to these positions. Nominations will be also be taken.
We are looking forward to another fantastic school year!

Yearbooks Have Arrived!
Limited Supply Still Available for Purchase Today at Pick-Up!
The yearbooks have arrived were distributed yesterday,  Monday, June 13th. In case you forgot to order yours, we will have a limited supply available for purchase TODAY, Tuesday, June 14th, at the school entrance during pick-up time after school.

Wayback Burgers Fundraiser TODAY!
Don't cook tonight! Treat your family and friends to dinner at Wayback Burgers!
The next fundraiser at Wayback Burgers in the Bellevue Safeway Plaza on 140th Avenue is TODAY, Tuesday, June 14th, from 3-9pm. Wayback Burgers will generously donate 15% of ALL sales proceeds to Cherry Crest PTSA! This event will further contribute to school funding for Teacher Aides and Curriculum Enhancement activities.

Reflections Art Program Theme for 2016-2017
Next school year's Reflections Art Program theme is
"What Is Your Story?". Start bringing this theme to life in the areas of: Visual Arts, Photography, Literature, Music Composition, Dance Choreography, and Film Production. Cherry Crest has always had great representation in this National PTA contest.
More details will be coming in the new school year, but start seeking inspiration now!

Summer Recess Dates Start July 5th
Summer's here and it's time to play! Join fellow Cherry Crest families at weekly play dates on the playground. Starting the week of July 5th and continuing all summer, come to the playground for "recess time". Feel free to drop in on any date. All age groups are welcome!
Based on your child's incoming grade in the fall:
- Tuesday 4:30pm - Kindergarten/First Grade
- Wednesday 4:30pm - Second/Third Grade
- Thursday 4:30pm - Fourth/Fifth Grade

Thank You Field Day Volunteers!
The weather was great, the kids had a blast and the volunteers made it all happen - Field Day 2016 was a great success! Thank you to all of the parents who helped set up, run stations, and clean up - we couldn't have done it without you!

Reminder: Bring Lunch Balance Current
Please be sure to check your child's balance on PayPams and make sure they have sufficient funds for the rest of the school year. Remaining balances will move with your student to the following year.
Lunches are $3.00 each day and milk is $0.50 each purchase.

Summer break hasn't even started yet, but the 2016/2017 school supplies list for each grade is available!
Please have your student bring their supplies on the first day of school (September 1st).

Cherry Crest PTSA Mission Statement
The Cherry Crest PTA serves as a resource to unify parents, teachers, students and the community to support our Cherry Crest staff. We provide outstanding educational enhancement opportunities for every child and work on building a strong community.

Submission Deadlines
The Cherry Crest Charger Chatter is emailed to families and staff on Tuesday mornings. The deadline for submissions to the Chatter is the preceding Wednesday at 7pm.
Submissions should be made via email as plain text. Flyers or attachments may be submitted electronically in PDF format, but will be included at the discretion of the editorial team. Send all submissions to the editor at editor@cherrycrest-ptsa.org.
